“Not in Halifax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Even though it says Halifax it was a good drive to get into Halifax. It was a beautiful hotel well keep up and very clean with large rooms. The beds were very comfortable. There was only one washer and dryer so we had to wait to use them until others had finished. The breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold items. One thing bothered me with several hotels in Canada. They added a lot of different taxes on to the price quoted to you when you booked which you didn't expect. This hotel it added up to almost $30.00.

We stayed here after picking up someone at the airport and not wanting to drive into downtown Halifax. It was nice that it was out of the way. Even though it was on a somewhat busy street, it was quiet in our room. We stayed on the second floor and there were actually a few stairs to negotiate in the hallway to our room. We found this rather strange. We also wondered what the building was originally because it probably wasn't built as a motel. Right across the parking lot was a little creek with a trail running alongside. The breakfast in the morning was a step up from the usual. The price for the night was a draw.

Close to Halifax but out of the busyness of town. We stayed twice during our holiday. The rooms were clean and roomy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast has some hot food and you eat off real dishes not the disposable ones. I really like the Veranda where you can sit and see the harbour.

Room Tip: Our second stay was on the 3rd floor with a bay window giving you more space in your room. There is...

I stayed here for quite a few days on business and I must say, I could not ask for better accommodations. A continental breakfast that goes above and beyond the norm. Very clean, spacious, modern rooms. Very friendly staff. Scenic outlook from the front porch. Close to downtown Halifax. Heated indoor pool, which I did not use, but would be great for the kids. I would most definitely stay here again.

After a long day on the road, we chose this comfort inn over the one at Bayer Lake due to the less expensive price. It was a great stay. Good location across from the lake, a running brook beside of it. It was clean and comfortable. The bed was great, had a good nites sleep. The best thing was the breakfast the next morning. Hot, scrambled real eggs big sausages, waffles and the like, Real plates and silverware. It was welcome after 2 weeks on the road eating the usual continental breakfast on paper plates with plastic silverware. Everyone was very friendly too.

This is a great place to stay if your looking for a romantic night away. Has all the bells & whistles without the big price tag. Most hotels in the area were on average $200 (for a King Suite), this was $140 which included a king size bed, a two person whirlpool tub (which I HIGHLY recommend), a spacious bathroom & a free breakfast. We would certainly stay here again!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

We stayed here for two nights when visiting Halifax, and were pretty happy with our stay. The hotel is about 20-minute drive from downtown Halifax and has a beautiful view of the Bedford Basin from the front patio. The room was large, with a good-sized closet and television. The bed was comfortable, but the linens (although clean) had several holes in them and didn't look very well cared for. Bathroom was spacious and had plenty of towels. Our room backed right onto the parking lot and there were cars parked within two feet of our window, which didn't lend a very cozy feel to the room if you wanted the blinds open for some light. Buffet breakfast was very good, and served toast, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, applesauce, and coffee/juice. Overall, we were happy with our stay for the price and short distance to downtown Halifax.
