We stayed at the Marriott this past weekend while in the city for a work Christmas party downtown. It is a little out of our regular hotel budget, but we had friends staying in the same hotel and decided to treat ourselves to a little holiday splurge. We booked the "Family Fun" package for one-night with a king bed for $159, which included self-parking, Wi-Fi and buffet breakfast for two (as well as two children, if you are travelling with kids).
Self-parking is very convenient, however clearance for the parking complex is only 6'0" and we drive a full-size pickup with a Back Rack, so we wound up with valet parking instead to accommodate our vehicle. This was no problem for us and the hotel staff made it as effortless as possible.
Our room was fantastic - very spacious with a new TV, desk, and arm chair; the bed was great and the room was spotlessly clean. They had informed us of some construction that would take place during our stay but we were not inconvenienced by this at all. We heard no noise.
Our only complaint came at breakfast - we had a plate of food, thinking that we would double back for some fruit or toast afterward, but found that it was not a "two plate buffet". Perhaps this was our misunderstanding, but we felt a bit shafted when the waitress took our plates and presented us with the bill to sign.
Friends of ours made a same-day booking for the same style room, without the package, and wound up paying the same price as us for the room alone, plus an additional $20 for parking and whatever the cost of breakfast.
The location of the hotel is perfect. It is at the end of the Halifax waterfront boardwalk, connected to the casino and within walking distance to all the major bars downtown. It is very lose to major bus routes for anyone planning to commute by Metro Transit, and also has guest rooms that offer waterfront views.
I would definitely recommend this hotel & will to hesitate to make future bookings!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. We are delighted that you had such a pleasant stay with us, and enjoyed our unbeatable convenient location. We apologize for the miscommunication with the breakfast buffet; we will be further investigating this to ensure proper signage so we can make certain that this doesn't happen again. We pride ourselves on excellent guest service, and would on no account want to make any guest of ours feel less than comfortable. Thank you so much for the feedback and we hope to see you soon!
