“Market, Gallery, Library, Ferry Terminal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

The Saturday market at Alderney Landing is becoming a busy place with a wide variety of vendors with everything from produce to crafts. Noggins Corner is a regular there throughout the week with produce, Fox Hill cheese, and bread. The Craig Gallery, located at Alderney Landing, features works by painters, sculptors, and other artists. It schedule of events can be found on its website http://www.alderneylanding.com/gallery/. The Dartmouth downtown branch of the public library is conveniently located at Alderney Landing, and its children department on the second floor is a great place for young children and their parents. The ferry to Halifax departs from Alderney Landing on a regular schedule. See Metro Transit Alderney Ferry Schedule http://www.halifax.ca/metrotransit/Schedules/documents/ALDERNEY.pdf

Alderney Landing hosts a number of community activities both indoors and outdoors on the outdoor stage. On Saturdays there is a farmers and craft markey

“Meh”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

It's not really a destination yet. You catch the ferry there but unless you are planning to eat at the restaurant or use the ferry you likely wouldn't be going there. There's a tiny farmers' market type set up for a few hours but it's in the hallway. There's an art gallery and library, but again you'd be making a trip there to use that in particular, so it's not a destination to browse arond as much as having to go there for a specific purpose. This summer there have been concerts every Thursday night so that has been worthwhile and enjoyable.

“Best View of Halifax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

On the Dartmouth side of the harbour, Alderney Landing offers a spectacular view of the Halifax skyline. One can stroll through a delightful little park or sit and watch the ferries going to and fro the harbour. The landing also has a stage that is used for numerous outdoor concerts throughout the year, easily accessible by just a short ferry ride from Halifax.
