“We enjoy the Pub!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Every time we are in Annapolis Royal, we end up at Ye Olde Towne Pub at least once or twice. The beer is always good--this time our favorite was the Propeller Bitter! Honestly, with regards to the food, some is better than others--but we are always able to find something tasty. The jalapeno poppers are NOT spicy enough!

The staff is very friendly and helpful--it will remain a place we visit year after year!

“Terrible All the Way Around”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

After a long hot day we decided to stop by this pub for dinner. There was no air conditioning to begin with and it was small, but we decided to stay. The menu seemed ok and had a variety of dishes to choose from. I ordered a hamburger with cheese and bacon but when it arrived there was no bacon and the fries were cold. The 2 children in our party (2&5) ordered a hamburger as well but couldn't eat the burger because it was hard (over done) as the 5 year old stated, so they only had a few fries for their dinner. Their meal was served on a small children's plate but when ours arrived they too were served on the same sized plate. My son asked about the seafood platter ($18.00+) and how large it was as he wanted to share it with his father. We were told that it definitely would feed 2 people and that it included fries, a couple of pieces of fish, clams, shrimp and scallops. They also ordered a batch of onion rings to go with it. When the "platter" arrived it wasn't even the size of a dinner plate and had only one piece of fish, a few scallops and clams and a skewer of tiny shrimp and no fries. My husband had to order a burger for himself and gave the "platter" to my son. My daughter in law had something floating in her glass of ice water and asked for a new one. The waiter dumped it out and refilled the same glass because when it came back to the table it was still covered in condensation from before. I would not recommend this pub to anyone....the service was slow and then non existant and food was terrible. When my son complained to the manager about the seafood platter he told him they have never had a complaint about the size of the platter before. He told the manager...come to Halifax and you'll find a real seafood platter there. Will never go back

“Beer selection is ok, skip the food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Nice atmosphere, good location, good selection of beer. The food was uneven. Salad and fries were great, steak was awful.

“Very good food and drink, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Small cozy pub atmosphere. A very good caesar salad and sweet potato and peppers soup to start, then a smoked meat sandwich almost as good as the best of Montreal. There's a large selection of draught beverages. When I asked the server about the area, she sat down and acted as a one-woman chamber of commerce during a fifteen minute brochure tour. Yes, it's true: Canadians seem to be intrinsically friendlier than the noisy neighbors to the south.

I'd very gladly return to this friendly, unassuming pub.

“Lunch outdoors.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

This pub is across from the town square where the market is held. There is lots to see in a quiet and laid back atmosphere. Seating is outdoors and indoors. Tables and umbrellas outdoors protected against the small shower that occurred that day. Good food and drink.
