I am a frequent traveler and have traveled all over the United States and to Europe. I have stayed at many different kind of facilities. Of the many choices in the area to pick from, I decided based on the reviews, location and price. The fresh fruit salad for breakfast was some of best I've ever experienced. The location is very convenient for walking distance to all of the town's historical sites with several really nice restaurants nearby. Parking was ample and convenient. No air conditioning in the bedroom so had to keep the window open and ceiling fan on. Fortunately the breeze during the night was cooler. It was slightly stuffy during the day on the 2nd floor. Although the bedroom was of adequate size, there was not a desk in it. I inquired in advance of booking about confirming broad high-speed internet in the room since it was critical to my business travel. Upon arrival I quickly realized the wireless did not reach the room I was in on the 2nd floor. That in addition to no desk in the room, I had to spend time in the common area on the first floor when I needed to work online. It was not that much of an issue because most of the time I was the only one there. The biggest issue for me is almost insulting depending on your point of view. As a frequent traveler and company owner, I pride myself in deciding how much I'm going to tip which is directly related to my satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the service, food and/or facilities. I am not accustom to being dictated upon presentation of my bill how much I "must" tip. There was nothing on the web site indicating there would be an additional 15% fee added to the bill automatically. I've been to places where i gladly paid as much as 20% for the rare occasion when the service is above and beyond. Its not that I'm not willing to pay a premium for quality. Its just that in all the places I've stayed as a world traveler, this place is simply average in all most accounts and below average in some.
