“Not An Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

This is a classic B and B. the service was exceptional. However, the rooms and the overall feeling is one of shabby, wornness. It needs a good sprucing up. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. The service was exceptional as everyone wanted to please us. That was the nights stay saving grace.

Our stay here in June was very nice, with a gorgeous breakfast room overlooking the garden. Heather & Thomas were helpful with a variety of things, as were other members of their staff. The restaurant recommendations were great (thanks Hillary!), as were their recommendations for places to visit. When we arrived, the staff had already been informed of my environmental & food allergies and went out of their way to ensure my stay was healthy and delightful. Breakfast was wonderful, with delicious food I could eat. There are several menu selections for breakfast, so you don't need to eat what everyone else is eating. We found the location very convenient, with their own parking lot and an easy walk to the town center. The wifi for our ipad did not work in our room (we were not in the main building) - but that was such a small inconvenience when everything else was positive.

We spent a lovely 2 nights with Heather and Thomas. All of the team including Kendall were engaging and very welcoming. The recommendations for dinner or for day tours were excellent. Le Caveau at Grand Pre vineyards is very good, take a trip out to Hall's harbour for lobster - you won't be disappointed. Walk on the ocean sea bed? Try Blomidon Provincial park beach - take off your shoes and just walk out at low tide! Amazing. We also appreciated Heather's help in planning our onward journey to Cape Breton. On our first night the smoke alarm went off a number of times in our room in the early hours of the morning which was a little disconcerting. However it was addressed as soon as possible which we appreciated. When we left, much to our surprise, Heather apologised yet again for the problem with the smoke alarm presented us with a bottle of wine! A lovely gesture - thank you!

We had the pleasure of staying in Toad Hall at the Tattingstone in late June. We had a beautiful bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a large comfortable living area downstairs. When we arrived in was quite warm so we enjoyed a dip in the pool. Thomas and Heather were wonderful hosts. They helped us select wonderful restaurants prior to our stay and they made all of the reservations for us. The breakfasts were in the delightful sun room, very bright and cheery. Thomas made the best french toast I have ever had. The eggs were delicious, from a local farm. All of the ingredients were local and top notch. The Tattingstone's location is superb. Wolfville is a beautiful town with a lot to do. I was even able to work out at the Acadia University fitness center a few doors away.

We stayed at Tattingstone for three nights. We were in Wolfville for a wedding. Heather and Thomas are terrific hosts and really know all the spots in the Valley, including how to find the route to Cape Split which is minus a road sign or two. Great breakfasts, lovely room (we were in #1) all with excellent finishes and very , very clean. If we have the chance to go back, we'd certainly stay there again.

We spent two nights recently at the Tattingstone Inn in Wolfville NS. We had a room in the Carriage House, very cosy and a large bathroom. Heather and Thomas are gracious hosts with wealth of information about the local attractions. Breakfast is served in a elegant sun room overlooking the garden. You have a choice of items from a menu what we found very unique for a BB. Having traveled extensively, we really appreciated the way Heather and Thomas made us feel
welcome. We can highly recommend the Tattingstone Inn when you stay in Wolfville. It is the perfect place to use as a base for day trips to explore this beautiful area of NS.

I stayed at the Tattingstone Inn on April 16/13 for one night. It is located on the main street of Wolfville and is very convenient to everything in town. The room was very nice and it was quiet for sleeping. My hostess tipped me off on a nice brew pub in town where they made there own beer. Both the food and beer were exellent. Breakfast was very good also sitting in a room overlooking the grounds. I would certainly stay here again.
