“new years treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

As always, we made last minute plans, and the owners were great about playing phone tag with us to reserve the country suite.... Had wanted to stay at this place for many years, and we weren't disappointed :) Had a lovely evening in with the hot tub and a rented dvd. Bed wasn't the best but okay. Breakfast of eggs benedict was fantastic, our wonderful host was a great cook, as well as very sociable and entertaining. We were seated with another couple and enjoyed the breakfast conversation. Looking forward to returning in the future to check out some of the other suites.

My spouse and I stayed in the gaspereau suite on a Wednesday night as a surprise for his birthday. I had called weeks ahead to plan this all out. I was told ahead of time that the owners needed to leave early the next morning and therefore the usual breakfast would not be possible but instead were given the option of no breakfast or some muffins and fruit the night before to save. No discount was offered for either option which I found strange since the dining room breakfast is part of the service.

Our room was beautiful but we could see our breath when we walked in as it was so cold in there. We immediately had to crank the heat after the gentleman owner left.

While he was showing us the room however... We felt like two teenage kids being lectured. We were told several times how our actions could really mess up his plan tomorrow as he would not have time to clean the room if it was a mess before the next guest would come. He stood there for 20 minutes telling us all of the things that we couldn't do. We are very responsible 30 year olds and did not need to be lectured on how much we would be inconveniencing you because you had a conference in the morning. I had wanted relaxation and a night away for the two of us.

Finally... When crawling into bed my spouse had to get some toilet paper and take away a giant spiders web that was full of dust between the bed and the lamp. It had obviously been there for some time and we were thinking about the comment made before about how clean we should keep things for the next guests.

In the end we felt that we were inconveniencing this man while paying 200 dollars a night to stay at his b & b on a night when he had to leave the next morning for the city. we, after, realized that we were being inconvenienced and not given even a slight discoubt for the services missed. There are several other wonderful b& b's in wolfville. I would suggest trying a different one.

We stayed one night at this lovely b&b. It is within walking distance to restaurants and village. Our room was spacious and very well decorated. Beds were very comfortable, baths clean and had everything we needed in the room. Libby was very friendly and informative on things to do in the area. Allen did an amazing job on breakfast, beautiful presentation and delicious. Would definitely return. Larry and Kim

This b and b is a great choice. It located not far from the centre of Wolfville and offers good sized rooms and a fabulous breakfast.
We stayed here on our whirlwind tour of Nova Scotia in Sepember and loved the trip and this b and b. The building started out with humble beginnings but several owners put their own mark on the building and upgrades.
We stayed in one of the units on the side and it is amongst some lovely gardens. We even played some cards on the walkway deck.

We had a large room with a hot tub which we didn't use. (Our room would have cost more if we did -- which is fair enough.) Because of the hot tub the room had a slight smell but that's to be expected.

Overall it's a very nice B&B and the breakfast was wonderful. We were offered coffee and juice but had no choice about the breakfast. All of us got a beautifully presented plate of waffles and sausage and fruit. It was very good and none of us complained.

Would we go back? Absolutely!!

Our hosts were very friendly and mentioned that the Inn was for sale. Oh, if only I was younger. I would be tempted to buy this lovely place.
