Checked out this place a few nights ago for a quick dinner. It was standard pub fare, but it was very good value. The real deal seems to be the drink specials. They have a better than expected single malt selection for a place that isn't high-end or pretentious, and the pricing is excellent. The bartender mentioned that on Wednesdays, that almost all of the scotch is $5.50. The pours are not large, but the menu tells you straight-up that it's 1 oz. And even the regular pricing is very good value, let alone the Wednesday special.
The bartender was running the front himself - it was surprisingly quiet, but it was a Monday night - and he was great. He was speaking with all the people who were in the place, and he knew the food and the drinks well. If the other staff are as good as this fellow, i've found a new favourite place to grab a drink.
It's far from fancy, and if you want fine dining, do not come to this place. It's not, but it feels like a lot like a pub that's been around for a hundred+ years. If that's what you're looking for, I think you will find it here.
