Like most smaller cities/towns in Canada, Tim Hortons serves as a local hangout here in Yellowknife. Friends and families typically meet here to have a coffee or bite to eat. The atmosphere of this place, minus the service, is very homely and comfortable. It's Canadian through and through. The quality of the food varies from time to time and it's more the quantity that they have a problem with. This is one of the busiest Tim Horton's in Canada and as a result, it tends to run out of certain items especially on the food side during peak times. In the summer months, don't expect to get a good iced cappuccino unless you arrive early in the day as by the evening the machine is overused and produces very watery drinks. Prices here, as with all other Yellowknife food outlets, are inflated to take into account the remoteness. Despite the price hikes it's still one of the most affordable places to grab a drink or bite to eat in the entire city. Service is sporadic as there is a high employee turnover and constantly new trainees are working the registers. Don't be surprised if there is a mistake with your order!
