We work in the downtown area so every other week, usually on a Friday we choose a different place to eat. We have had food from the Duke twice in the last month.
The first time we had fish and chips with dressing and gravy and I thought it was really good. We didn't eat-in and the food was brought back to our office in styrofoam take away containers which made the food sweat a little so that was a drawback but otherwise, was really really good. I did have a Diet Coke (in a can) that tasted absolutely funky and as it turned out was expired and had been for a while.
The second visit, we both had the cold plate which was really good. Tons of turkey which seemed fresh. I would have liked cranberry sauce with it. This meal is a lot of food. there's lettuce and tomato and enough that I would call it a salad versus some other places that just give you lettuce and tomato for decoration. So, salad dressing would have been a bonus as well. The best part was the cold slaw, there was a hefty serving of it and it was so good, the veg weren't grated too small, crunchy and sweet, so yummy!!
The interior of the Duke is more like a stinky pub but the food so far, we have enjoyed and I am sure we will try a few more things from the menu.
