“The Hill!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

We walked up from our B&B on a cloudy day. It was SUPER windy when we got up there, but such an amazing historical site. Read all the little boards and hit up the visitor center if you can. It's fascinating when you look at Canadian history. I had no idea that St. John's played such an integral role in Canada and switched hands with the french so many times!

“Bring your Thermals & a Brollie”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Wind and Rain with a touch of cold windy sunshine is what you will encounter as you battle your way to the gift and information area.

Great view regardless of the weather, and worth a read up on Maconi inside...out of the wind...

“Worth Checking Out!”

Great views and a alot of history! We really enjoyed our visit here. Check the weather forecast before you go. It was foggy the day we arrived and waited for the first clear day, glad we did!

“Go early morning or midday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Signal Hill is a great place to drive up and look out over the ocean, or look back over all of St. John's. I did not enter Cabot Tower. I went late afternoon, so the sun was right my eyes as I tried looking out over St. John's and the harbour so, if you're after some good photos, go earlier.

The small tourist stop on the way up to Signal Hill is nothing special. There is a small snack counter, some seats, and stuff. At the back is some kind of small historical exhibit, but you cannot just walk in... they expect several dollars for the luxury of doing so. I skipped it.

Also, watch out for joggers going up and down the Hill.

“Day or Night, Great Views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

I recommend you go both during the day and the night. Lovely vistas of the harbour, surrounding hills, and seaward during the day. At night, the lights of St. John's are beautiful. Very romantic spot. And, if you are lucky, the sunset behind the city will amaze you.
