“Loved it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2007

We stayed at another B&B owned by the owner of the Abba Inn and it was just lovely. Service was great and room was massive! The location was perfect as well! Be sure to check out Moomoo's and get some turtle cheesecake icecream! When we visit St John's again we will stay at the same place!

All the downtown hotels were booked so I told my travel agent to try for an Inn or B&B. Had never stayed in one before but there were no car rentals available so the available places outside the downtown core were not an option. What a nice unexpected surprise. Rooms were great, beds were great, location was great. The famous Ches's Fish and Chips was up the road behind the Inn and Bianca's straight down towards the Harbour. The Rooms facility is maybe 300 or 400 feet behind the Inn and it is a must see attraction in the City. Nice restaurant there too, but I forget the name of it.

  • Liked — Location and being very clean
  • Disliked — I would like a larger place e.g. 100 to 300 rooms just to look at people
  • Tips/Secrets — Ask the host for restaurant tips

Perfect location. I came to do research at the archives, now relocated to The Rooms. Had excellent meals at nearby restaurants. Took in local theatre at the LSPU Hall, did a stroll through George Street on a Friday night and it was like carnival in Rio and then it was back home to Montreal

  • Liked — Location and value
  • Disliked — No indoor pool
  • Tips/Secrets — St. John's is a treasure. Queen's Road is divine

I'm a visitor from China. I stayed at Abba Inn for 3 days. This is a clean and wonderful place. Big rooms, shining floor and friendly staff. The most convenient thing is the location of the hotel is in Downtown, and I can easy visit most lovely place in downtown. I enjoyed my time in Abba.

A few weeks ago, I arrived into St. John's. Well, I didn't book my accommodations beforehand..figuring there would be plenty of rooms available

So, I called around..and there were rooms..but at ridiculous prices. Then I came across the Abba Inn, and was greeted by a friendly voice, and an even friendlier price.

Upon arrival, I was impressed with the room, and location of the Inn. Leonard, the innkeeper, was helpful, and answered my questions..breakfast was to be downstairs in the morning

Did I mention the location? I took a leisurely stroll around town, ate dinner at a restaurant recommended by the InnKeeper (which was delicious), and finished off with a pint at a local pub

The room was clean, fresh, and comfortable. I slept like a baby. The next morning, ate a hearty breakfast (better than anything you can get at local eateries), spoke with the staff, and read the paper.

What can I say? It was well worth the money. Its a no drama place, and thats what I look for

Super location. Quiet comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. St. John's is a really nice little city. Everything seems to be compressed into the downtown core. Food was great at all the recommended restaurants. I emailed ahead and got a bundle of information with my reservation confirmation. I was too early for the whale and puffin tours. I think they start the first week of May. Next time : ))

I was in town for a few days of business and had a very relaxing and comfortable stay at the Abba Inn. My room was bright and big, with a large bed and a well fitted bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and gave me some good advice on some great restaurants (try the Duck Street Bistro) and local pubs. The location was perfect for me, being downtown and close to any amenity you could want while on vacation/business. The included breakfast was very filling and had a great variety of hot and cold items. Kudos to the chef! An all around great place.
