The Entente Cordiale was the best B&B we found during our eight day vacation to the Rock and easily rivals many top B&Bs across Canada for charm, elegance and character. Edna, Effie and Gladys were outstanding hosts. This B&B offered a home cooked dinner of local seafood that was second to none.

For quiet getaways or romantic retreats close to Gros Morne National Park, this is the place to stay. Leave your blackberries, cell phones and laptops at home as there is no cell coverage or internet available, but this is exactly what we were looking for in our vacation!

We really liked the close proximity to Gros Morne where we spent most of our time, but it was also close enough to St Anthony & L'Anse aux Meadows to visit the Viking site (though it was a long day trip). It is a testament to Entente Cordiale's quality that their own website (http://ententecordiale.com/) links directly to TripAdvisor for reviews.

In a startlingly beautiful province full of wonderful people, few spots are more beautiful and few people are more wonderful than those of this fabulous b & b. The setting is stunning -- right on a basically private beach. The home is lovely. The room are very nice. The meals were very memorable. But more than anything the people -- we only met Edna and Effie -- are most amazing. They are such gracious and warm hosts who made us feel like very good friends -- after less than 24 hours.

Licensed dining room is almost right on the ocean, truly homemade and delicious dinners (by local woman who prepare great food 'just like mom'), and if you like home-baked desserts, this is the place. And everyone there is super friendly and show a sincere interest in you enjoying your stay. Spotlessly clean. Quiet. A great find.

This bed and breakfast on the western peninsula in newfoundland, in Portland Creek is a real gem. The staff is terrific, the setting is spectacular - such a beautiful beach - a real experience. The food is wonderful, home cooked meals. We were 2 couples, we enjoyed the most magical sunset, a bon fire on the beach, nice rooms. Couldn't have asked for anything more. If you want to experience truely authentic Newfoundland hospitality, I highly recommend this.
