Everything was good during our three-day stay. Good service, friendly staff, an excellent breakfast, good wi-fi, large well-kept and well-appointed room.

Perhaps the only minus is the lack of a decent restaurant within walking distance.

Looking forward to staying there again!

The Chateau is a very nice hotel with some definite pluses, including a heated garage (at no charge, though the sign says $10), larger than average rooms (I believe we were upgraded as Choice Members - this is part of their Ascend collection)and great access to the ferry across the Bay of Fundy. The rates were as good as or better than comparable chains and the staff were very helpful in discussing food options nearby. As noted in another review, there are not shops or restaurants immediately nearby, so be aware of that. Some folks stay away form Choice hotels, finding them too basic. This was our first experience with an Ascend Collection property, and it was comparable to the mid, upper Marriotts. This includes the bedding and the bathrooms.

Stayed there for the 2nd time this year. Nov 19th to 22nd.
Everything about my stay was excellent. The breakfast was very good, eggs, bacon, sausage. Pancakes too but I didn't try them. Of course all the pastries, bagels fruit and juices.

The room was basically awesome, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. ( king) .
Included new from my last visit was underground heated parking. Saves scarping windows in the AM as I left each day at 7 am. The parking is a little tight for a 4x4 cab and a half pickup, but doable.
Excellent stay...really nothing could have suited me better.

Room Tip: The king room was perfect

We stayed here en route home after getting off the ferry from Digby, NS at 7:00 p.m. It is a short drive from the ferry pier and located adjacent to the major autoroute. While very convenient for the motorist passing through St. John, it is not within walking distance of any shops, restaurants, or other services. This would be would be a drawback for someone staying any length of time. The hotel provides breakfast only (excellent) and the front desk recommended a fine seafood restaurant for dinner, a short drive away, following their very good directions. The room and good size bath were comfortable, with every modern convenience. The lobby is quite large, there is ample parking, and the breakfast area is large and inviting. Excellent for the casual, short term visitor.

Room Tip: Almost any room will do. Ours overlooked the freeway, but there was no traffic noise.

We were in Saint John for the Dance Quest competition and we stayed 2 nights at the Chateau. That place really offers one of the best values in town, we loved it! The hotel is brand new, and as other reviewers have pointed out, the rooms are large and super clean. Beds are comfy, even if we found the pillows a little high. Breakfast (incuded) was basic, but adequate.

We'll be back!

Room Tip: The hotel is just off the highway, rooms at the back are quieter.
