“Enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

I have been wanting to try out this hotel for awhile and it did not dissapoint. The staff was helpful and the room was spacious and romantic. we were in a king suite on the second floor.
We will likely stay again at some point but will stay on the third floor where the noise level is less.

I almost ended up at a different hotel, because this one was so far down the list I didnt even notice it! Thankfully I was lucky enough to read about it in a travel guide book on Eastern Canada. I am really picky about hotels, I would say that I am pretty much a hotel snob in a way- and I thought this boutique hotel was the nicest place I stayed in my whole trip across Eastern Canada.
The rooms are spacious and modern, and the bathrooms are great too, with great showers and wonderful smelling shampoos, bodywashes and body creams. The rooms are very clean and cleaned and tidied up well every day. The plasma TV is a nice big size with lots of different channels including rogers on demand so I was even able to catch up on the shows I missed over the past week! In the morning, there is a small continental breakfast of bagels, cereal, muffins and fruit which is incuded, and there is coffee all day, which was great. Also, this hotel is right on top of a cute gastropub, which gives it a cool, hip feel. Great location right near all the pubs. The only thing that people may not like about this place is that you can sometimes hear noise/loud music from the bar downstairs depending on which night of the week you are staying there. If you stay on the 3rd floor it is quieter. They do provide ear plugs for this reason, which I did not use. I suppose this hotel may be suited for younger couples who are going to be up relatively late anyway, or for people who are not sensitive to noise. We completely did not mind and absolutely loved our time at the hotel to the point that we even booked an extra night in Moncton.

Room Tip: Third floor is quieter than second floor

This hotel has really nice city modern look inside the rooms. It's heated-floors in bathrooms and its walk-tru shower is really nice. Has a romantic aspect to the design. One thing to consider, noisy because of the pub with musician on lower level. This aspect was unpleasant

Decor was nice and clean. Very modern, minimalist. Sleep quality was so so due to the noise from the bar downstairs.
Setup of rooms are nice as they are all suites. Definitely loved the soaking tub in the bedroom..nice romantic touch.
Need to invest in better sound proofing. Breakfast in room available upon request but needs to be ordered before 10pm. We never got to order as we didn't notice til midnight when it was too late. Little expensive for what you get. Overall enjoyed nice relaxing evening. Lots of places to visit in the surrounding area for food and drink.

The hotel is PERFECT for couples who are looking for an up scale hotel at an affordable price. Would not be a place to stay with children. The rooms are clean and very nicely decorated. Have stayed in suites which include a soak tub in the room and in the basic rooms as well. Have always enjoyed our stay. The only word of warning: If staying on the second floor on a weekend, you WILL be able to hear the bar (St James Gate) below until closing time (approx 2AM). As a result, if we need a quiet night, we request a room on the third floor. If not, second floor is fine too. For a town where good hotel rooms are very expensive, be sure to check this place out.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms can be noisy due to the bar below.

The ear plugs on the bedside table are a tip off that this hotel is noisy. It's not just the music that blares until 2 am but the rowdy patrons with screaming, hollering and general mayhem that make for a sleepless night.

It's a shame as the rooms are nicely appointed and clean - although I'm not a fan of the see-thru bathroom.

Room Tip: You could try requesting a room at the back but why bother?

My husband and I stayed here overnight last Thursday. The rate for the room was $159 -- $30 more than we would have paid at the Delta, Crowne Plaza, Marriott, Ramada or Future Inns. We had heard that the restaurant was very good. It was so loud in the restaurant we could not hear the person showing us to our "table" which was crammed in right beside a group (we had reserved a week before). We were in room 302. No elevator, parking is extra, a small bottle of water (in the fridge) was $5. Our "view of Church Street" was the CIBC branch. The bathroom was big, nice shower with barely any water pressure but the nice thing was the heated bathroom floor. Oh, and when we opened the blinds there was a brick wall to see. At least it was a private view. This hotel is lacking way too many things for something in this price range in Moncton .. in room coffee, TV screen resolution was terrible (Team Canada had Pink uniforms -- not so manly!), elevator, parking. The breakfast was included in the room and not so bad, good coffee.
