“Good night's stay, close to airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

Good night's stay in a nice clean hotel that allowed us to be close to the airport for a very early flight. I have stayed there before, and always enjoyed the accommodations. Staff are very friendly, long stay parking option was a great surprise for the 5 nights we were away. Normally prefer queen beds to the double in the room we had, and it was a little crowded as there were three of us, but the beds were very comfortable, and everything was great.

I stayed at the Sandman Hotel Winnipeg Airport on March 30 and April 14. I can’t say enough about this Hotel!
We stayed in Room 261 and 155 and both were great. Two double beds, which were extremely comfortable and great bedding as well.
The Hotel is very quiet, and there were no children running around in bathing suits up and down the halls. There isn’t a bar or a lounge and most guests appear to be business travelers seeking some peace and quiet.
The Sandman Winnipeg Airport is an oasis amongst the hotel options near the Airport.
There are two restaurants on site – Chops, a Steakhouse, and Denny’s. We ate at Denny’s twice and the food and service were awesome.
One of the perks of staying at this Hotel, is that you can leave your car there while on holidays for FREE! Y
Yes, as long as you advise central booking what you are doing, you can leave your car in their back parking lot for FREE!
When we returned from our two week trip to Mexico, my battery was dead. When I mentioned it to the Front Desk Clerk, she advised that the Hotel has a portable battery charger, and in about five minutes, the Hotel Manager came out and boosted my battery for me.
Again, for FREE!
In this day and age, when you are gouged and nickeled and dimed to death at every turn, it is refreshing to receive help for nothing.
I would highly recommend the Sandman Winnipeg Airport for people seeking a quiet comfortable place to stay, and the added perk of FREE extended leave parking!

I stayed here at the end of March in a Jacuzzi suite with my boyfriend. We got the romance package for our anniversary which comes with a Jacuzzi suite, $25 giftcard to Chop and a $25 giftcard to Denny's. These are both restaurants right on location. It was nice to have breakfast free and some money off of dinner. The room was nice, Jacuzzi was big and clean. No complaints about the room. It would be nice if they included champagne or some kind of wine in the package. Overall it was pretty nice but you had to use the gift certificates the day you stayed and the day after. It would be nice if they extended the dates on those if you had alternate plans. Decent price for a Jacuzzi room though with the gift certificates.

We picked this hotel based on price and proximity to the airport. This is a renovated hotel and it shows. Parts, like the lobby, look brand new, and others, like the bathrooms in the room are the old fixtures. Our first room reeked of smoke, and as our child has allergies this was problematic. Being the first week of Ontario March break, we were worried there wouldn't be another room. Luckily they were able to find another room that was non smoking. I used the pool with my children, which was incredibly small. The room the pool is in is tiny. There are no chairs to sit in as there wouldn't be enough room to walk around a person sitting in a chair without falling in the pool. The room was clean and the beds were fine. We were up early to get to the airport and used our own vehicle though a shuttle was available if we needed it. The hotel offers a park and fly option as well, which makes the parking lot a mess as it is difficult to fully clear snow from around the parked vehicles left for weeks at a time. We would pick this hotel again for a pre-flight stay, but it isn't our first choice.

I travel extensively through Western Canada and have stayed at Sandmans whenever possible as we have a national account with them. The Winnipeg Sandman is located close to the airport, which is convenient. There is a Chop Restaurant and Lounge, which is above average and an attached Denny's which is also clean and reasonable. The rooms we rent have a king sized bed and they are very clean and quiet. There are coffee makers in the rooms which are always well stocked and the washrooms are large for the price that you pay. There is an Esso station nearby which makes filling up the rental car convenient and there is a large Supermarket also nearby if you tire of restaurant food. Ask for a Lucky 13 card when you stay there...they accumulate and you can get free room(s) every 13th stay.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to a king rather than two queens if you are travelling alone. They can usually ac...

I was put up here by West Jet after my flight was canceled, and found it to be an average airport hotel. It is n ear a major supermarket, and has a nice Denny's attached to it. Staff were very friendly, but the hotel smells of stale tobacco smoke. All in all, a pleasant experience.

I have stayed at this hotel for both business and pleasure and have always been satisifed. It is convenient to the airport and never had any problems with shuttle service. It is also very good for shopping as you are close to the main drags to get to Polo Park, easy access to Route 90 and the Kenaston shopping areas. One nice feature is having the Denny's restaurant right there - it's nice not to have to find place to eat as soon as you get checked in or if you are flying out somewhere, you can eat here and not at one of the food court specialties at the Airport. I really don't have anything negative to say about this hotel - comfortable rooms, good location and friendly service.
