I live in Winnipeg and if I need a place to stay I pick The Inn at the Forks. It’s one of my favorites, because of it’s location (right smack dab it the middle of the city). It’s restaurant The Current is really delicious, I love the Riverstone Spa-and have had almost all of their treatments! But I love that it’s a boutique inn and that the rooms are so comfy and really nicely decorated. Not only that, but the most important thing (well at least to me), is that they have the most comfortable beds in Winnipeg. And the bedding is so fluffy. I actually like the Inn so much that I stayed their on the eve of my wedding day! I highly recommend it-and if you are visiting our wonderful city you must check out the Forks it’s great in the Winter and Summer and every time in between.

Room Tip: Any room is sure to please.

I have been to Winnipeg several times on business and found it drab, with empty storefronts and people panhandling; however Winnipeggers are lovely. This time October 31 to November 3 was different. There is a new airport to greet you. The jets 'stuff' is everywhere and the city is bustling. I stayed at the Inn at the Forks which is an upscale hotel with a spa and restaurant, where the Red and Assiniboine Rivers meet. Staff were very helpful and directed me to the shops, which are walking distance away. There are exhibits and theatre near-by and the Museum of Human Rights has taken shape and it will be spectacular. I could walk – a long walk –to Louis Riel’s grave. The spa staff are friendly and accommodating and the meals at the restaurant excellent. A had a choice every day for breakfast –big or small and service came with a smile. If you travels take you to Winnipeg consider the Inn at the Forks.

Room Tip: try one with a view -the rooms are spacious

Have viewed or stayed in most 'romantic suites' in the city and these do not disappoint - gorgeous bathrooms, cozy suite feel like at home, love the fireplace and bar, etc. Room service and turndown service were great. Safe location, ample parking, friendly staff, DELICIOUS brunch buffet. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

The hotel is perfect if you are a tourist visiting Winnipeg or as I was...just waiting to head up to Churchill, the Forks area feels very much like its made for tourists. The selection of shops is good for souveniers and art work and a very varied selection of food is available here. I also took a short walk across the big white bridge to Saint Boniface to see the museum there. It has a big section on Louis Rieal. The Hotel is very modern with fantastic bathrooms. Although I will say rooms 313-319 possibly further are next to the Air Con unit and above the delivery door and rubbish bins. Fine if you sleep like a log. However I did visit in October and heard no noise from other guests. The restaurant is excellent but breakfast is off a Menu only, no buffet. I did find service to be a little slower at breakfast time, something to bear in mind if you are leaving early.

Room Tip: Rooms 313-319 are noisy.

Stayed here for 3 nights prior to visit to Churchill (bear - what else)
Very impressed with this hotel. Beautiful, large (by UK standards) room with coffee/tea making facilities, flat screen tv...oh and absolutely brilliant ipod player (excellent for recharging). The restaurant was very very nice with excellent food. And the staff really reallyfriendly and helpful. Hubby had a small crisis - when I asked at reception they said "no problem, we'll run him into town to fix it". Probably pretty routine for North America but in the UK.....not a chance!
Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Winnipeg. Free transport buses run from the Forks all over town.

We stayed here only one night "in transit" as it were, before our long-haul flight back to the UK the next day.

Our room was on the fourth floor and was immaculate; a really large bed, large well-equipped bathroom with a good selection of toiletries and an illuminated, magnifying make-up mirror (yay!) Coffee making facilities were also provided, as well as an iron and ironing board in the spacious closet.

We spent the first evening whiling away a pleasant couple of hours in the hotel bar which featured live music and a great selection of wines.

After a really good night's sleep we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast from a huge selection that was available. The meal was gigantic and we felt we'd need nothing else to eat for the rest of the day! :-) Service was also impeccable.

We did not have to leave for the airport until late afternoon so we had plenty of time to explore the nearby vicinity including the indoor market. Concierge were happy to look after our luggage until it was time to leave.

It was only a short stay, but it's certainly a hotel I would choose again, if ever I find myself back in Winnipeg.
