“Warm Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

We spent nine nights with Christine and Giovanni in their well-maintained and comfortable heritage home which is located close to the downtown core and numerous restaurants (a 30 minute walk).

We stayed on the third floor in a three bedroom suite with a private bath and sitting room equipped with a large flat-screen TV, small fridge and microwave and it was ideal for three friends travelling together.

We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of breakfasts and delicious homemade daily-baked goods. We were also very appreciative of morning drives when the temperature hit 20 degrees below.

We highly recommend this B&B and know that anyone would enjoy their genuine hospitality.

My husband and I wanted to spend a week in Winnipeg visiting family but we didn't want to impose for a whole week so we looked for a B&B, We were delighted to find a heritage home and to get the entire third floor suite for such a reasonable price. While the furnishings were a bit on the tired side, the suite was spacious and clean. The neighbourhood is unique. Beautiful old trees and lovely old homes border the Assiniboine River. Walks in the neighbourhood were such a pleasure. And it was isolated, quiet, and protected from nearby commercial areas.
The hosts were accommodating and gave us the privacy we wanted while still offering helpful suggestions and advice about the city. The hostess is a walking encyclopedia of city affairs and history.

Room Tip: The upstairs suite has a servants stairway that directly links to the kitchen. If you don't wan...

We had a wonderful stay at the Beechmount B & B. Christine and Giovanni were great host. Breakfast was delightful with fresh baking and fruit salads, home cooked omlets with ingredients right from their gardens. Very homely, comfortable rooms and atmosphere. We had a eight day stay visiting our new grandbabies and will definitely be back to stay at the Beechmount. Highly recommended.

My husband and I recently stayed here while visiting friends in Winnipeg. My husband, who does not tend to be an aficionado of b&bs., looked at me at one point of our stay and said, "This is the best b&b we have stayed at." That is high praise indeed!

Pros: ROOMS AND PROPERTY sparkling clean! Tons of towels in the wonderful bathroom with shower and soaking tub. Comfortable bed. Large room (and I think ours, the Bay room, was the smallest. Although our bathroom was detached from the room it was right across the hall and was extremely private indeed). Beautiful grounds with plenty of serene places to sit and relax after a day of touring the city. POOL--also sparkling clean. BREAKFAST, the hot food prepared by Giovanni, who is a superior chef, the pastries, including homemade croissants one day, prepared by Christine and they both use as much as possible organic, local ingredients (many from their own garden). The LOCATION fairly close to just about anything worth seeing downtown and convenient for any driving you have to do to see others. SERVICE If you have an early flight Christine and Giovanni will get up early (we were leaving at 5:30 a.m.) and prepare coffee and a light breakfast--service above and beyond the usual! Much great advice of where to visit--after carefully listening to interests and tastes.

Cons: NONE!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this b&b and the conversations with Christine and Giovanni. One couple that was there when we were was booked for one night and extended their stay for the next two nights--it is THAT good! If you are planning a stay in Winnipeg then look no further. It is like staying in an elegant, comfortable home with old friends.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet and well-appointed. One on the 3rd floor is like a suite and suitable for a fam...

My fiance and I stayed at the Beechmount while in Winnipeg recently. The house is beautiful and breakfasts were made with delicious, local ingredients. The house is located in a picturesque neighborhood and was close enough to downtown that we were able to walk to the concert we saw at the MTS Centre. Overall, it was a great stay.

My husband and i had an excellent stay here. We got a two night stay as a wedding gift, a very wonderful gift! We loved their knowledge of Italy, winnipeg and even winkler. The home was beautiful and they shared a few neat stories about the art. There was definetly an abundance of character which we enjoyed exploring. The breakfast was amazing we woke up to the smell of Giovani's cooking and came down greeted by Christine who was quick to seat and serve us. It was very fun getting to know the other guests (who had stayed there before) and we still keep in contact! For the lunch they recommended good restaurants that were in walking distance. They let us use their laptop to watch movies in the evening out in the enclozed gazebo. great place!

We took a two week road trip, through northern Minnesota and into Winnepeg, staying at B and B's whenever we could. The Beechmount was the best!!!!! Christine and Giovani are interesting, congenial hosts, and thought of every detail to make our 3-day stay as pleasant as possible. The house, which is decorated with wonderful international artifacts and first-nation mementos, was open to us at all times. They willingly accommodated our food preference (gluten free) with delicious options, were happy to have our bicycles spend the night in their spacious front hall, and couldn't have been more helpful in getting us where we needed and wanted to go in the city (which is a wonderful city, btw.) Though we are not likely to need to travel that way again, we would consider returning there just to stay at the Beechmount!

Room Tip: All rooms are elegantly appointed; a bad choice is not possible.
