The team went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and the staff were excellent. We had a great time thanks to the experience at the Holiday Inn. They made space for us downstairs and even didn't mind us invading their lobby six nights in a row.

The hotel was clean and well maintained.

Room Tip: Not next to the elevator

While on a road trip we drove through Winnipeg and couldn't find a hotel on the main highway... everything was sold out. We were told we might find a room at the Holiday Inn Airport - Polo Park. What a find, a totally exceptional experience. This is a new hotel with stunning decor. Their staff was helpful, professional, and above most standards. Our room was large and so very clean with fantastic linens and towels.
We had a late supper in the bar area and were treated to an excellent meal served up by a delightful bartender/server. The food was exceptional. In the morning we visited the restaurant for breakfast. I am not a fan of buffets but needed to try it after having a look. The chef is ready to cook eggs (any style) waffles, and pancakes. You can also try the bacon, sausage or oatmeal. There was also a selection of fruit etc. Needless to say we were more than satisfied. Although the breakfast is not included it was well worth the money. Our total bill was still less than many of the hotels (of the same type) we stayed in during our journey.

We were off to Winnipeg to visit relatives for two days and decided because of it's location to stay here. Access to the hotel was easy. We were on the 8th floor and the view was stunning. The room was comfortable and clean. The internet worked very well. Breakfast the next morning in the hotel restaurant was yummy. We received a certificate each which almost paid for our breakfast. I was able to use airmiles points for the room which was what I was looking for. Our experience was good.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have excellent views.

We are currently in night 3 of a 4 night stay. The positives have been the staff. Doug and Joyce at breakfast have been top notch. The decor is great through out the hotel. Rooms are clean and housekeeping have been great.

The negatives are:
The parking spots are small
The pool is great for little kids the problem is the splash pad and the hot tub. I guess they are out of order. I checked with the front desk and I was told they are not working. It has been two days now and they cant even put up a sign that they are out of order. The pool with the splash pad area and hot tub is one of the main reasons I selected this hotel for our vacation this is the disappointing part.

Overall the hotel is great. If the pool area was working it would get 5 stars.

We stayed canada day which meant the hotel was quite quiet. Looks as though the hotel has been freshly updated and looks great.
We did not utilize any amenities, but there seemed to be a good selection.

TV was small in the room, but channels were good. Bed was comfy and pillows were fantastic
Internet was good

I would stay here again

Room Tip: We stayed on the backside, was nice and quiet

It was a very pleasant hotel. Their staff is very polite and helpful. There were a couple of minor details about the hotel that were left out, but it is still a very new hotel so kinks are expected!!!

Room Tip: There is a row of rooms on the first floor that are very spacious. 100-to maybe 110.

A frequent guests at Holiday Inn properties my wife and I decided to check out the 'new' Holiday Inn in Winnipeg. This is an old property that has been tastefully renovated. The common areas and rooms are modern and clean and meet the Holiday Inn standard.
We were very disappointed in the restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited but on our first night we decided to give it a try. We both ordered ribs- a full order for me and the half order for my wife. The full order is large- two big pieces of meat but that is the only positive. The top piece of meat was slathered with unremarkable sauce that appeared to have been painted on on the way out of the kitchen. The sauce was not baked into the meat at all. The piece underneath had no sauce at all and was an unappealing grey colour- typical of pork that has been steam cooked. The texture was mushy and the flavour under the sauce was bland. Overall it was quite unappetizing.
The waitress was very attentive and noticed that all was not well. To their credit, the meal was 'comped'.
The next morning we tried the restaurant again. A buffet breakfast was offered as were 'a-la-carte' items. We tried the buffet but they ran out of scrambled eggs before we got there. There was an adequate supply of bacon (very good) and breakfast sausage (average) along with the usual deep fried breakfast potato chunks. The single 4 slice toaster was going non stop and it was a challenge to get to use it. The biscuits and other pastries were stale. After a considerable wait the scrambled eggs were replenished but they turned out to be a disappointment too. The lone waiter on duty was hustling and did his best to serve everyone but he didn't have a chance. I have had far better breakfasts at the 'free breakfast' hotels!
