Centrally located downtown, and a local historical site make this a real attraction for a history buff like me.

“Great place to hang out in Winnipeg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Well worth an half day visit while in Winnipeg. Lots of food kiosks - definitely try the Smoothie Bar - they do a great breakfast smoothie. Also The Human Bean does good tea and coffee with a eally wide range of choices. Check out the eco products too, and a range of local produce. And stop for pancake at Caramel Pancakes. The Forks also has a range of green initiatives that are interesting, and they place is heated by ground source heat pump, and all the food waste is composted, and the old cooking oil is use to run the vehicles...

There is also a pleasant walk along the river there too.

I visited in winter when it was quite cold so not much going on oitside.

“Place of inspiration!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

What a nice spot to walk, relax and to go eat and shop.
For a walk or a morning run this is a special location. The River give you a view.
The sculpture are fine.shopping and dining has a great variety.we even could buy a warm hat for the icy weather in Churchill? The food hall prepares fresh food nod all looks like market. Good to see not always fast food!

“an enjoyable place for Knowledge and shopping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I would always go to the Forks, for different reasons, shopping and that was an adventure, different stalls and a person would never know what they would find.........
Other days, i would just walk around and listen to the sounds of the
water and happy people ( yes, when i think about it, all the times that i was there ----never had i seen or heard anyone unhappy)
Then there is history and for that, each would have their own opinion.
Take time to enjoy.........

“Lively People Place & Market in Central Winnipeg Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

The Forks offers a lively & colourful indoor market atmosphere and an indoor/outdoor people place. There are lots of attractions for "foodies"...great bread at the bakeries, especially the "Tall Grass Prairie Bakery", the House of Cheese has an excellent selection of International & Manitoba cheeses, and there is a variety of kiosks offering Ukrainian, Chilean, Phillipino, French & many other foods. There are restaurants as well. On the lower level there are the food stores & kiosks and a full market offering fresh fruits, veggies, herbs, flowers and other foods, a well-stocked wine store & other food-related offerings. On the second level are many shops, big & small offering items from around the world, plus fine arts and crafts by Manitoba artists. Folks are friendly & helpful, it is very clean and there is plentiful free parking plus bus access from local hotels. On our many visits to Winnipeg, it is a must visit!
