Located at the edge of beautiful Green Lake in Whistler, this is a place that will satisfy the most discerning foodies. We could not enjoy the spectacular view over the lake and the surrounding mountains as we arrived late in the evening. Arrive early to take advantage of the landscape and to make your escape a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
The place is cozy and charming, yet modern and spacious. Do not expect city-like sophistication and glossy interiors. Instead, white linen tablecloths, a roaring fireplace and a very low noise level, with plenty of privacy between tables, give Edgewater a quaint atmosphere, making it the ideal escape for a romantic and quieter dinner out of crowded Whistler village.
Lobster ravioli, scallops, wild salmon and gnocchi, all were perfectly executed. Ravioli came in an aromatic broth with tasteful shrimps; salmon was cooked to perfection and was tender and moist; scallops were soft and savory; gnocchi were a tad firmer than they should be, but still excellent. The only slight disappointment was the homemade ice cream that I expected to be richer and creamier.
The service was a little brisk, yet professional and knowledgeable.
Just a few minutes north of Whistler Village, virtually opposite the Meadow Park Sports Centre, Edgewater is definitely worth a visit despite prices slightly on the higher end. Book on time as the place tends to fill up quickly, especially on weekends.
