Read all the way to find why i gave 3 stars instead of single star.
We booked vacation well ahead in time. Just two weeks before the dates i got an email indicating the restaurants on the property will be closed due to some reason. I never got complete scope of the problem but we proceeded as planned. At arrival i noticed the entire hotel was in 'recovery' mode of some kind. It was mostly deserted and although bars were open but my first impression was that i paid over-paid for a place 'under construction'.
Next I discovered either the Hotel or Hotels.com messed up my room request and i ended up paying another fortune.
We got lake view 1 bedroom suite, and it was simply spectacular. The place was clean like 10/10. Perfect for couples. Spotless and gorgeous... bedroom.
Very soon we discovered (confirmed by a review posted below) that the hotel was rented to bunch of richies from New York to celebrate Passover. As a result, entire hotel was "kosherized". So when we arrived, the hotel was in process of getting back to normal.
I would have given them outright ZERO star since that clearly shows HOTEL does not care for guests... but only $$$. Anyways, i decided to give them 3 start because of the service we got from staff at BAR. All those folks at bar are simply great in customer service and gave us great company while we sat by ourselves in the empty lounge.
Hotel is right next to lake that has v nice walk trail. It is away from Village and parking in village is painfully difficult and expensive.
For the price tag of this hotel, i would rather prefer to stay at village in one of those 5start hotels. Village is where the action is. Use google map to see the neighborhood of this hotel... If you think you can easily drive up and down the village, then you are about to make the same mistake that i did.
I think this place is perfect getaway for couples... but not if you are seeking outdoor fun.
Lake view and one bedroom suite.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback and I do apologize that your experience was not as it should have been. Unfortunately we did have a large group just before your stay and it took longer than expected to get things back to normal at the hotel. I want to assure you that our number one focus is our valued guests and that we strive to provide a level of service which is customized and personal on each and every stay. I do hope that on your next visit you will experience the lodge operating as usual as the peaceful and friendly retreat our guests have grown to love.
