Having looked at the tripadvisor reviews for some time I picked Northstar @ Stoney Creek (#64) for our two week stay Mountain Biking in Whistler.

Overall we were very happy with the accomodation, with just a few things that could be better:

1) Our particular apartment looked out over the sea-to-sky highway with non-stop traffic noise. The double glazing was pretty effective so it wasn't noisy enough to keep me awake, but it did mean we couldn't have the window open and as there was no air con that meant the rooms got very hot at night. It was fine with a deskfan on though (when we found one).

2) The bike storage at the property wasn't suitable for 'proper' mountain bikes. It is fine for ordinary family bikes, but we take our specialist downhill bikes with us to Whistler (worth around £4000 each!) and a shared locked cage in the underground garage would not have been safe! Fortunately Garbanzo were doing overnight bike storage near the lifts this year so we used that instead.

3) The apartment had internet access, but we didn't find out until too late that we needed to let the owners know that we planned to use it in advance for them to leave the modem out.

All things that could have been resolved by asking the right questions in the first place! And generally the apartment was great with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen (including herbs/preserves etc in the cupboards and fridge), the shared pool and hot tub were really nice - the hot tub was cold on the first day and we were worried but the girl on the desk said an engineer had been called, and thereafter it was so hot it was hard to get into it!

The location is great, just off the end of the market place at the end of village stroll. So it is a 10 minute walk to the lifts, but that helps you walk off your fabulous breakfast anyway.

We would stay there again, although we would probably look for an apartment not overlooking the road.

Just got back from 1 week at Northstar. Great property, clean, well kept up.

BBQ on private deck, free wi-fi access through lobby. Our unit was 1st floor directly across from lobby so I could access from the room.

Great location across from IGA supermarket and super Sushi Restaurant in Marketplace, Sushi Ya.

Took kids (7,4 boys) on Quad ATV tour. They loved it and kids were FREE with paying adult! They rode double with my wife and I. This was a great experience as well.

Easy access to bike trails. Awesome pool and giant hot tub. Only drawback was too few lounge chairs available most of the time. I took resin chairs from the room to supplement.

Overall, A+ property, staff, and you can't beat Whistler, BC as a vacation spot!

Stoney Creek condos at Northstar is an outstanding place to stay during your visit to Whistler/Blackcomb. The location is idea. It is located across the street from the Marketplace and is an easy walk via the 'Village Stroll' to access shopping, food, entertainment and the lifts.
The staff here was helpful and inviting. They made sure to accommodate our needs which made our vacation even more enjoyable. I would highly reccommend this property.

We recently returned from a four night stay at the Northstar at Stoney Creek and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed a two bedroom unit, and our neighbours stayed in a one bedroom close by. They are very nice units, well decorated, in a very clean and well kept complex.

The rooms are easy to access, and we had no problems despite having four young children and an elderly couple in our group. The pool and hot tub are great - a good size and very warm for relaxing and enjoyment for everyone.

A definite must on our return to Whistler this winter, and again in the summer. Go to alluradirect to get the best rates.
