“Friendly, helpful and happy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

After traveling from Australia and suffering terrible jet lag, the friendly welcome was wonderful. We arrived late for breakfast our first morning, after enjoying a sleep in on one of the best motel beds I've ever slept in, and we're again welcomed with smiles. Fresh platters of fruit and extra bread and bagels were bought out, and fresh juice poured!! From beginning to end this hotel is amazing! The views, the staff, the fully equipped kitchen, the gas fireplace, everything was perfect!! Was worth traveling from the other side of the world!!!

This is a lovely hotel! No major negatives. The two of us stayed in a one bedroom and it was more than enough room – bathroom is a very good size and I can see 4 people staying comfortably. Nicely furnished all around! We were on the third floor during a slow time so noise was not an issue.

The CONTINENTAL breakfast was only okay unfortunately. We have had better in cheaper hotels… Pretty basic offerings – deli meat, sliced cheese, hard boiled eggs, bread, bagels, yogurt, cereals, muffins, croissants, etc and an excellent assortment of fresh fruit which was the best part! Juice, coffee, and Tazo tea which were great! The yogurts and milk were warm – not appetizing. I prefer my dairy kept at a cool temperature (basic food safety!). The other hotels we have stayed at offered a greater selection with a waffle station, variety of cooked eggs, and sausages. Pan Pacific also did not provide the après/happy hour at 4:00 because it’s now considered the “summer season” in April… maybe that’s why the breakfast was a bit lacking. I would not pay extra to eat their breakfast – it was included in the room price (so I’m sure we paid for it anyway). However, it would definitely be cost effective if you have a large family, but as a couple, we would have rather gone out for breakfast.

The pool and hot tubs are wonderful! The gym… not so much (if this matters to you). Very small gym in a horrible location with nothing much to offer – one treadmill, elliptical, bike, and a few hand weights.

Nevertheless, don’t get me wrong - I would stay here again and recommend this hotel!! … Although I might try another 4-5* next time, like the Fairmont, to compare…

The staff are wonderful, the room/décor is excellent, loved the Aveda products! Everything was clean and neat. Wonderful location of course!! And I can see the locker/gear pick-up etc being very convenient (we didn’t board this time). You can’t go wrong staying here!!

Room Tip: Try to get a higher floor.

First up, there are a couple of things other reviewers mentioned that are no longer offered at this hotel. This did not detract from my opinion of the hotel, but might do for others, so its worth being aware....
The breakfast is now solely continental, there is no hot option, or 'special' available. It is however perfectly adequate (cereal, fruit, yoghurt, bagels, cold meat and cheese). There is also no happy hour in the lounge as others described.Just so you know...!

Reasons for my 5*s:
- On our first day we arrived at 9.30 so that we could enjoy a days skiing. We only dropped by the hotel to ask if we could park in the car park, but they let us checkin!Excellent customer service!
-Great location in the village
-The ski lockers at Pan Pacific Mountainside, which are literally 5 metres from the lifts = no walking in ski boots!Yey!
-Aveda toiletries
-Beautiful bathroom with amazing shower
-The outdoor pool and hot tub enjoyed in the fluffiest dressing gowns ever!!

Areas for improvement:
-More variation at breakfast - it got boring by day 5
-Quicker replenishment at breakfast. There was often no bread left,no cheese left etc

Dear Guest,

I’m glad you enjoyed your recent stay with us and thank you for sharing your experience with the travel community. We are always happy to accommodate an early arrival whenever possible. I’m glad it worked out in your case.

We also appreciate the feedback regarding breakfast. It is worth noting that although the slopes are still open, our hot breakfast buffet and après ski hour transition to a lighter offering when our winter rates expire in April.

I hope we can welcome you back again soon.

This is an apartment style hotel, which means you are a bit left to your own devices like transporting ones luggage to and from the room. All the staff we interacted with we're very pleasant, but we didn't see many of them, and that probably follows as there is really only the entry foyer and the breakfast room - the girls and boy there were nice and cheerful, as were the room staff.
Don't take this the wrong way though, we had a super stay here. As it was for five nights we dug deep and went for the two bedroom two bathroom suite - it was huge! Loved the atrium ceilings for a maximum sense of space. All clothes and luggage tucked into the bedrooms meant the living and dining area could be used for exactly that and we weren't tripping over bags etc. One night we comfortably fed nine for dinner, yes the kitchen includes two large cooking pots (4 & 10 liters) plus smaller ones, and the coffee filter unit works pretty well to. Important to note that the shower was truly excellent as we're the beds.
The heated outdoor pool and two hot tubs is a lovely way to finish off after a tough day on the slopes.
The location works very well, far enough from Skiers Plaza to be away from the late night noise but close enough that you are at your ski locker in the PP Mountainside or the grocery store or bars / restaurants following a couple of minutes walk.

We stayed here for a week with our 7 month old son. They provided a crib, baby tub, and travel pack of baby toiletries, and no one ever complained about noise ;-) The service was very helpful, and the price was very reasonable. They took good care of us. We will definitely stay again.

My husband and I travelled from Melbourne, Australia and after a long journey we were pleased to be greeted with friendly staff and a great room. We were on the bottom floor with the balcony facing the fire station with sirens occuring at times but had views of snow covered plants and trees which was great to look out onto especially when it sowed. This room was quiet and was not too far away from anything. The room was spacious with a fully equipped kitchen. We loved the gas fireplace, which was handy for drying snow gear also. The free locker at Pan Pacific Mountainside was great to store snowboards etc therefore not carrying for the short couple min walk to gondolas.
Pool and spa's are beautiful even in the freezing weather. Happy hour was fantastic and the breakfast has plenty of option.
Laundry was coin operated and had detergent available.
Couldn't fault this resort and its staff :)

Dear Skye,

Thanks for recommendation and review. I’m glad we were able to get you settled into a comfortable room after such a long journey. We agree that our fireplaces are absolutely the best place to dry your gear while you soak in the outdoor tubs or mingle during après hour.

I hope you had a safe trip home and that we can welcome you back again some day.

Our family spent a wonderful BC Family Day long weekend at the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre. The hotel is well located in the Village, and its rooms are spacious and well-appointed for families who appreciate a full kitchen and comfortable beds. The staff are very professional, polite and friendly, and cater to your every need. The PPWVC is one of the only hotels in Whistler to offer a full hot breakfast, European-style, with hot egg and meat entrees, pancakes, as well as cold cereals, yoghurt, fruit, and hot coffee, cocoa and varies fruit juices. Their maple whipped cream for pancakes and waffles is heavenly! Their breakfast is the perfect way to get ready for a busy day on the slopes. Another great feature is that the ski storage is shared with its sister property, Pan Pacific Mountainside - no need to haul your skis or boards across the Village. Easy and convenient storage is just steps away from the Whistler or Blackcomb gondolas. The PPWVC is my hotel of choice in Whistler Village, at any time of year.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view.
