We loved our 2-night stay here. It has pleasing decor, comfortable rooms, relaxing ambience and excellent, friendly service. We will be back.

The location was good as it is just outside the village and was pretty quiet. It was an easy walk to the village even with two children under 3. It was too bad that it was the furthest possible from the park. But the walk was a nice way to tire out an energetic toddler. The room was nice, we had a junior suite. It was nice to have a seperate area. We were happy to see that after an email and phone call there was a crib set up when we arrived. We were disappointed with the sofa couch..worst I have ever slept on..I ended up closing it and sleeping on the couch itself one night..but that wasn't comfortable either. Also the pillows were hard, both me and my husband had neck pain for 4 days..The linens caused my son to have an allergic reaction..he had rash all on his cheek that he slept on. Also you would think that they could spring for half decent toilet paper..but it was pretty equivalent to what you would find in a public washroom. The other disspointment was that we couldn't get a DVD player..it sounded like they only had one..and it was out. We enjoyed the pool..it was small but perfect for two youngsters..The staff were ok..but didn't go out of their way to provide any value..we asked about parks in the area and were just told that the park in the village was the only one. We went to an info booth and they went out of their way to tell us activities suitable for toddlers and gave directions to a wonderful waterpark nearby.

My husband, toddler and I stayed here for 2 nights. We got a great deal through Jaunt. The only extra we had to pay for was parking which is $19/day. I was expecting a studio with a king bed but they upgraded us to room with a queen bed, pull out sofa and kitchenette that had a microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. There was even a great table that sat 6 people. The bathroom also had Aveda products which is a nice touch. It was perfect for the three of us.
It's was a clean hotel and modern looking. The front desk people gave us great customer service. The pool is small but was good enough for the three of us to take a dip after walking all over the village. The hot tub was great as well.
The location is great as well. It's right across the street from White Spot and only a short walk into the village.
The only negative as mentioned in the previous review is the thin walls. One night at 2am, the baby in the next room was crying and we could hear it for more than 20 min. But I understand since I also have a toddler. I just felt sorry for them. I would still come back to this hotel.

I'll start with my one and only gripe about this hotel. I contacted the hotel prior to booking to enquire which rooms had a full shower (as opposed to a bath with shower over). I was informed their king rooms have showers but there were none available. After an attempt to sell me an expensive suite, I was told some of the queen rooms with sofas also had showers. I went ahead and booked one of those rooms. On arriving at the hotel the guy seemed to be having trouble checking us in, saying "there were no rooms clean" (we arrived at 5pm so this shouldn't have been a problem). I mentioned my request for a room with a shower and the manager came over and said "give them this room. It has a really nice view. Tit for tat." and walked off. No explanation or apology - seemed pretty dismissive and rude. We did not consider the room to have a great view - it was on the side of the hotel from which you could see the mountains but it was right above the patio/hot tub/swimming pool area which were heavily used and was also right next to the elevator so everyone on that floor had to walk past our room. Having said that, the room was doubled glazed so outside noise wasn't really a problem but you could hear people in the hallway.
Rant over.... the hotel is perfectly located right on the edge of the village - you literally just have to cross the road and you're in the centre of the village but away from all noise. The rooms were clean and modern. The bed, duvet and pillows were lovely. We visited in August and it was an absolute bargain but can't speak for the value in the winter peak period when I imagine prices soar.
Trip advisor has a coupon for free parking - print it off and present it at check in. We used this no problem.
Overall a solid hotel but service leaving a little to be desired in my experience.

Aava Whistler is easy to find (not everything in the village is), has basement-level parking (extra $20/day), is close to the pedestrian plaza and right across the street from the White Spot restaurant (excellent, reasonably-priced food). It was the cheapest hotel in the village when we made our reservations but I can't imagine what the others had that the Aava didn't. But be warned: Whistler is an adventure/mountain biking/hiking vacation spot w little for seniors other than food and a ride up the mountain, which is SPECTACULAR!

Aava is in an excellent location in the Whistler Village - close enough to walk to everything but on the edge of the village so you don't have noise at night. Our room overlooked a driving range and outside noise was not an issue.
Rooms were very clean and stylish, the bed was extremely comfortable and the TV was a good-sized LCD. Parking is under the hotel and secured. Cost was $19 plus tax (but we found a coupon on Trip Advisor for free parking.)
The walls in the room were pretty thin however and we could hear the people next door talking, drying their hair, turning light switches on and off, closing the door, etc. Also, the front desk was a bit discombobulated. At first they didn't want to keep our Free Parking coupon when we checked in, but when we checked out, they charged us for parking so we had to retrieve the coupon and give it to them. (And when we initially tried to check out, we couldn't because the desk clerk didn't know the "password" on the computer.)
If you're looking for tips on good hiking, the desk service was not that helpful. There's a great information kiosk in the village that was incredibly helpful and thorough though. We did notice that they had a decent selection of bike repair tools and a bike wash area outside.
Overall, the price was good and the room was very nice. Location was perfect!
