“Alberta Prime Beef and you pay less than in any other Steakhouse in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

An amazing dinner experience. I know, Steakhouse dinner are not for everyday dining but with their current $39 3-course option until the end of November you have great option of salads, starters, seafood and more. Considering that you can upgrade for another $9 to include a beautiful Alberta Prime Beef 6oz you pay really less than in any other Steakhouse in town and receive a better product than anywhere else. Try the Beef Sushi Roll, omg, one more reason to come back. The rubs are amazing and making you think if you even need all the sauces which are home made and offered to your steak. When you try the side dishes you actually understand why you would choose one of them as part of your three course choice dinner. The mashed potatoes are just out of this world. The service was very professional and you could feel that all people which touched the table during service felt proud of what they are doing. Great knowledge about wine with a good selection of local Canadian wines, which I always do appreciate while dining in a country I never thought of when it comes to wine but I really started to like it. And something I realized as well here. At one point dining in Whistler you feel, that one of the dishes during dinner seems to got less attention due to less people in the kitchen but here, every dish was better than the other and therefore Dessert is hard to choose. If you love chocolate, don't be afraid to order the chocolate one: It might does not sound over the top, but as soon as you place your spoon in your mouth, you know that you did well with your decision. And even that we did not order the big cuts, looking at them the way they were served on the neighbor table, the way they looked like, definitely a great option when you come with a bigger party and you want to make the dining experience to a wow factor. We loved our dinner here and we will be back. Not only for their steaks.

“A fine night of dining”

Though the wine prices are high, dinner menu is more than reasonable at Whistler's standard, but food quality are well above average.

“Great food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

The wait staff were all very friendly and seemed to really appreciate me being there. I was able to eat both breakfast and lunch a few times and they were quite good. One night a sponsor treated us to dinner and my steak was excellent.

“Fun and Delicious evening at the Sidecut Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in September and while we were disapointed with the standard at the hotel, we did in fact heavily frequent the lounge/bar and restaurant. Where we did experience Four Seasons service.

We first spent several hours being informed and entertained (and treated like kings) by Tim the bartender. He made excellent exotic drinks, delivered wonderful food (thanks chef) and taught us all kinds of interesting facts about the local food and alcohol being offered at the Four Seasons. He did all this will being busy! Wonderful.

We then dined in Sidecut on that same evening. The restaurant was pretty quiet - perhaps only a handful of patrons. Our server (sorry forgotten his name) was sharp and on the ball. He never missed a beat. He even brought me a pashmina type wrap as I was cold and we were sitting by the window. Now, that is service! For our dinners, we had the fresh oysters, a few sides, a couple of amazing steaks, two glasses of wine and two of bubbly. All in all our experience in Sidecut was excellent from the service to food. The cost for dinner with tip - about $270. Expensive? Yes, but you should expect this when dining at a Four Seasons. The wine the waiter recommended was so good that when we got home we stocked up on it.

The only negative things are:

Lack of atmosphere (or character) in the restaurant; and that the hostess called while we were travelling to the hotel and left a voicemail that if we did not call to confirm the reservation - it would be cancelled. Kinda odd, given that the restaurant was dead and I had already confirmed the reservation prior (twice) and we were guests in the hotel.

If you are staying in the hotel, I highly recommend this restaurant. Go early, and spend some time at the bar chatting with the bartenders - it will add to your evening.
