Stayed at the Cascade Lodge for a week with my highschool band class, and we had a very enjoyable stay. Had the 2-bedroom/2-bath suite for 6 people to share, and we got along well & didn't feel cramped at all. Only problem might be the bathroom sharing ;-)

It was my first time staying in Whistler, so I didn't know what to expect and I definitely did like it a lot!
The bedrooms were a decent size, made good use of the kitchen, living room was fine, and the bathrooms were decent.
It's a nice stroll to Whistler Village (5mins to cross the street and over to the other side). Made good use of the huge swimming pool and the hot tub.

The service was friendly, although I have to say we didn't need to talk to front desk much... because our teacher dealt with the whole thing.

I presumed it was not one of the more famous hotels in Whistler as it did not appear on our hired GPS. Apparently apartments with full amenities are the norm in Whistler and this was no exception. They even had a dishwasher and washing machine and dryer (and vacuum cleaner)! The bedroom (and bed) was relatively small but not uncomfortably so. Common facilities included a jacuzzi and swimming pool but the place was overrun with kids!! Perhaps an improvement would be if a maid service could be provided.

  • Liked — it had every amenity
  • Disliked — no maid service

We stayed in a studio room for a week. Mistake - we should have payed the extra for a one bedroom apartment. There was very little storage space in a room that was smaller that a typical hotel room. It had all the advertised facilities, microwave, dishwasher, cooker but nowhere to put your suitcases. The aircon/heater was rather noisy.
The lodge itself is OK - the 2 hottubs and pool are clean and the pool is larger than most.
Location is good. It is just beyond the main village and the Market Square end of Whistler is easily accessible The walk to the ski lifts takes 5 or 6 minutes.

We stayed here the last week of March. Weather was superb with warm sunny days and great snow conditions on the mountain. We usually stay at Stoney Creek, but thought we'd give The Cascade a try. We won't be back. We had a 1 bedroom suite on the top floor with a decent mountain view. Our suite was tired and dated and badly in need of re-painting as the walls were stained, including grease marks all over the kitchen. There was an attempt to paint the marks, but it just looks worse with square patches all over. The bed was soft and uncomfortable. The windows are poorly insulated as the traffic noise from the highway was very loud and in fact woke us up each morning. Location is good, just a short walk to village and free shuttle to the lifts stops out front. The guys at the rental shop where they store your equipment for free were friendly and helpful. There are better choices in Whistler.

While thoroughly enjoying my first stay in Whistler - great snow, great location and excellent value for money the stay at the Whistler Cascade Lodge was ennervating and close to a rip-off. I had booked the place (out of Germany) as it was supposed to have a Sauna. This proved to be true - however the Sauna never functioned. My complaints (for 6 consecutive days) were always politely refuted with the statement that a repair would be imminent. After 6 days I asked for a piece of paper to prove to my travel agency that the Sauna had not been working in order to claim some money back (again: I had only booked the place because a Sauna was supposed to be in operation). Three more days passed with new stories why such a simple statement had to be processed by somebody else ("The Managment Company") + then - as you might guess - my vacation was over, I was on the way back home. The hotel was kind enough not to forget me after I got home: instead of the promised confirmation I then received a simple email stating that the sauna had been operational all the time and just in case it didn´t work that was all to blame on other travellers. Needless to say I feel cheated. To round it off one ot the two hot-tubs didn´t work for 2 days as well + the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired (used toiletpaper on the floor of the Pool showers for an extended amount of time).
