We stayed here the last week of March. Weather was superb with warm sunny days and great snow conditions on the mountain. We usually stay at Stoney Creek, but thought we'd give The Cascade a try. We won't be back. We had a 1 bedroom suite on the top floor with a decent mountain view. Our suite was tired and dated and badly in need of re-painting as the walls were stained, including grease marks all over the kitchen. There was an attempt to paint the marks, but it just looks worse with square patches all over. The bed was soft and uncomfortable. The windows are poorly insulated as the traffic noise from the highway was very loud and in fact woke us up each morning. Location is good, just a short walk to village and free shuttle to the lifts stops out front. The guys at the rental shop where they store your equipment for free were friendly and helpful. There are better choices in Whistler.

While thoroughly enjoying my first stay in Whistler - great snow, great location and excellent value for money the stay at the Whistler Cascade Lodge was ennervating and close to a rip-off. I had booked the place (out of Germany) as it was supposed to have a Sauna. This proved to be true - however the Sauna never functioned. My complaints (for 6 consecutive days) were always politely refuted with the statement that a repair would be imminent. After 6 days I asked for a piece of paper to prove to my travel agency that the Sauna had not been working in order to claim some money back (again: I had only booked the place because a Sauna was supposed to be in operation). Three more days passed with new stories why such a simple statement had to be processed by somebody else ("The Managment Company") + then - as you might guess - my vacation was over, I was on the way back home. The hotel was kind enough not to forget me after I got home: instead of the promised confirmation I then received a simple email stating that the sauna had been operational all the time and just in case it didn´t work that was all to blame on other travellers. Needless to say I feel cheated. To round it off one ot the two hot-tubs didn´t work for 2 days as well + the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired (used toiletpaper on the floor of the Pool showers for an extended amount of time).

Take it from a local Vancouverite, there are better selections for same price category. Location & cleanliness of rooms was just fine, however did not appreciate the hidden fess & lack of full disclosure. At checkout, we discovered there was a 6% booking fee charged by ResortQuest who manages the property. When I asked the front desk staff about this, the individual didn't know what it was for but relayed a response from management that it was a "standard" fee. How "standard" is a fee when your own staff do not know about it? It was also explained to us that this fee also covered the VIP card received at check-in. That was ironic because the info that came with the VIP card said it was "free". None of this was disclosed at the time we made the booking. There is plenty of accomodation available @ Whistler that does not charge a booking fee or if they do, it's a flat fee, not a % of your bill.

We also discovered after check-in that for stays of under 7 days cleaning service is not included. Which might be tolerable if they had readily available garbage chutes so that it would at least be convenient for you to take out your own garbage, but they don't.

For anyone looking for an accomodation booking for Whistler, try www.skihills.com. The prices listed for the same accomodation is generally cheaper than what it listed by Intrawest Resorts & ResortQuest.

This lodge now has an unpublished policy of not accepting guests under 25 unless accompanied by someone who is 25 or over. Book online. Arrive and be told you're not welcome. How classy.

Good value.
Hotel is average, but so was the price on expedia.
Everything is average, but met our requirements.
Note that the hotel is slightly off the main walking path, but in Whistler "slightly off" means extra 1-2 min of walking :-)
Will use it again!
