Nice room with view.
Outside of hotel needs improving - bit dingy looking. Not easy to find in village - we had to ask at visitor centre in the end after an hour of driving around looking for it.
Breakfast not included but restaurant on site - can have continental which includes fruit/fruit juices/cereals, but if you have full cooked breakfast, no fruit juice included (have to pay extra for it).
Underground parking area for hotel guests only but this is also extra cost, otherwise, long stay free car park good 10 minutes walk away from hotel.

“Okay stay but too much noise”

Best Western Listel Whistler Hotel

Jun 5, 2008

We drove to Whistler after getting off our cruise ship in Vancouver. The drive was spectacular, very easy to find Hotel with our GPS. Seemed like an older building, our room was facing the restaurant and somewhat the pool next door. We spent the weekend of a holiday and there was too much noise from college students. Noise was loud and constant until 3 am. The bed was confortable with plenty of pillows and free internet.
Overall okay, but dont know if we would stay again. Price was reasonable and parking was secured but tight, and it was extra.

Overall an expensive, dissapointing stay.

Pro's:
-Pool, hottub available
-secure carparking (not free but secure and nice to have)
-safe hotel (but whistler overall is quite safe feeling)
-Free Internet
-good location
-clean carpets (but not clean beds! see below)
-small fridge in room; coffee making facilities

Con's:
-first room was dirty- one bed had dark stains, what appeared to be pubic hair and crumbs on the sheet (!); they happily moved us up to a new room which was better (but you'd think they'd help us move our stuff!)
-tired mattresses that you can feel the springs on/through
-stained tiles in bathroom shower that need a good de-mould treatment (easy-off bam! treatment perhaps!)
-unfriendly check-in staff who don't even notify you of the facilities offered by the hotel (pool, FREE Internet, restaurants, etc)
-one-ply toilet tissue (!!!for this price!!!) not very nice when travelling that's forsure.
-old, tired & crunchy towels.

Overall, I think this area (Whistler) is expensive to stay at. However, eventhough Whistler is expensive, I still feel the BW Listel over-charges guests for what they offer (unclean facilities, cheap toilet tissue, cheap old towels, etc). I would not recommend this hotel.

    • Disliked — lack of cleanliness- providing you get a good room; its still an okay, affordable spot for family trips, tourists, etc. Just Check your room upon checkin!

I recently stayed at the Listel hotel everything started out fine until we noticed the amount of young colledge students staying there. They all happened to be staying on our floor. The party began at around 9:00 with a hour of silence when I figure they ventured out to the bar at midnight. The noise then continued from 1am till 4am. The thing that bothered me the most is when I called the front desk to ask them to deal with the problem they treated me like I was inconviniencing them with my complaint. They basically said there wasn't a whole lot they could do (which is untrue they could have had the guest leave or called the police) neither of which was done. I can see letting this happen for one night and then not allowing them to stay for another night but I guess that would have made too much sense so why not have them stay another night....
All in all I got about 4 hours sleep in total, mean while I was there with my 2 year old daughter and husband as well as being 8 months pregnant. I do not recommend staying at this hotel the staff is incompetent and doesn't seem to care all that much about the comfort of their guests.

My wife is senstive to heat and our room had no air conditioning. It was a very warm day.
Vehicles are parked three deep and requires car keys to be left at the desk. For security the car must be completely unloaded.
We left after one hour and were charged anyway.
