“Excellent resort location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Our party of 3 spent 8 nighs at the Adara hotel in February 2013. It was our first time to Canada and we had a fantastic experience from our arrival to our departure. We arrived at midnight and we were greeted by friendly, efficient staff.
Our room was a one bedroom loft, it had a very modern apartment feel to it, clean and spacious. The beds are super comfortable and we slept very well. The manager Robert was on hand daily to greet us and ensure our comfort.
The location of the hotel is excellent a few steps from the main street and a few minutes from the gondola.
The manager, the staff and Kate the dog manages to do what some of the bigger hotels struggle with, create a friendly homely atmosphere while maintaining its hight standards. I highly recommend the Adara

Very helpful staff both at day and night. Cosy room with a retro asthetic (lots of red!) Great bathroom, fantastic hot tub (if you happen to be lucky enough to get it to yourself!) Warm cookies in the lobby, comfortable bed. It gets noisy downstairs and outside at nighttime, but if you're coming to Whistler for peace and quiet, why would you be staying right in the village?? Highly recommended for good three star value.

A friend and I went for a ski weekend from the 24th to the 27th, and due to our first choice hotel being overbooked on Thursday, stayed one night here. The hotel was well located, well appointed, and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Small touches brought the room from excellent to fabulous, like the white noise machine, earplugs, french press, and playstation. The modern lines, colour scheme and decoration were also something I'd expect from a MUCH higher priced hotel. The location in relation to the rest of the lower village is also fantastic, and I remarked on checkout that I'd stay the entire weekend at the Adara next time.

My one dislike? Not only is their parking charge more expensive per night than the valet at the Fairmont Chateau (!), they evidently left my vehicle in the short term parking area too long before moving it and I got a parking ticket from the Resort Municipality of Whistler (we checked in around 4:30pm and the ticket has 5:04pm marked on it)!! The ticket was so small and Whistler's grievance process so convoluted that I just ended up paying it, but coupled with the already overinflated overnight parking charge, it was $70 for ONE NIGHT of parking at this hotel.

Coming up on a bus? Stay here in a heartbeat. If you have a car, stay far far away.

Room Tip: We had room 311. There was some kind of staff room next door, and they were up late partying. We did...

thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. I was sorry to hear about the parking ticket. The ticketing officers don't allow people to park in the fire lane as a safety regulation. I had a look at the Fairmont web site, their valet parking is $39/day, almost double our rate. Come by car, come by bus, important is that you get here and feel fabulour for your alpine adventure

My husband and I stayed here for three nights on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in March 2013. The positives of this hotel: The staff members were courteous on our arrival. The hotel is a couple minute walk to the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas (very close), and is a minute walk to Whistler Village (to the left of the main entrance, and up the stairs- again very close). The hotel is also close to many restaurants, pubs, and shopping. The lobby was warm and inviting, the chocolate chip cookies that we had after skiing were divine. They are baked fresh every day in the hotel (definitely not store bought). Our room was modernly decorated, had a fridge, microwave, bottle opener, fireplace, and a king size bed. The bed was comfortable to sleep in. My favorite part of the room was the shower- not because it was fancy- but the water at the hotel was super hot and lasted FOREVER, perfect for relaxing my sore muscles after skiing.

The bad parts- I left this hotel exhausted. The bar downstairs was really loud every night. Even though we were in the 'quiet part' of the hotel- we just couldn't fall asleep. I was hoping that the bar would be only noisy on the weekend- I was wrong. I think charging over $200 dollars for a hotel room with high levels of bar noise/poor sound proofing is ridiculous.

So if you are staying in Whistler for the night life, you probably won't mind this hotel. If you have young children with you who need to sleep, don't stay here. If you are hoping to get away, relax, and catch up on your sleep, don't stay here.

thank you for your honest review and the many positives you have described. You are 100% accurate in that we are not the best location for families, we advertize ourselves as an 'adult oriented' hotel, perfect for people who want to be in the middle of the action.

We stayed in Whistler the week of the family day weekend. Adara is a really cozy place to stay - from the warm cookies on the way in, to the gas fireplace in the room, to the loft-style layout that we had. The staff in particular were really nice - what a treat to have people interested in what you are doing and happy to help. The decor is as shown in the photos Note: i always wonder if the photos posted are up to date on these reviews - i can confirm for others like me that they are - this is what it looks like :-) It's located just off the "village stroll" and for those who love Starbucks, that's a one minute walk. It's about a 5 minute walk to the lift. there were a number of restaurants close enough to walk to.
Great value - good price, great place.

We stayed at Adara Hotel to go snowboarding/skiing in Whistler in Jan 2013. This is a small botique hotel and the rooms are very cozy and cute. They gave a french press in each hotel room, so it was very unique. Their lotion, shampoo, and conditioner are made out of herbs,,,very refreshing! And the hotel is right near the village and the staff is so nice and helpful. We arrived around 9am bc we drove up from Vancouver and wanted to snowboard & ski that same day we got there. The hotel staff was able to accomdate us and have us leave our things at their "bell desk" while we hit the slopes. When we came back from the slopes, we were able to check in and etc. The valet parking is around $22 (cheap!) and they offerred free coffee, water, and snacks in the lobby practically all day! I would def recommend this hotel.

Now we only stayed one night, but from the moment we walked in we felt welcome and warm. Helped by the freshly baked cookies on the counter! The person who checked us in (cant recall his name, Irish fella) was delightful and informative of the hotel, things around town and places that would suit us to go, meal wise. The hotel itself was clean and easy to find our room. The room was spacious and quiet.. Including the bathroom! Playstation was also in the room and games available downstairs at no charge. Free wifi was a great addition and always helpful in those sticky situations.
One thing I did love was the outdoor spa, one floor above ground for a little extra privacy (whether they intended to or not). We will definitely be coming back!

Also the hotel managers dog downstairs was a lovely farewell to have... Friendly Labrador keeping anyone company sitting in the lobby!
