“Dog Friendly, People Friendly Happy Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2011

On most of my stays in Whistler I am not at a hotel so this was a different experience for me. The Summit Lodge was a sponsor of the bike course (which was fantastic) that weekend I decided that it was a good option for the weekend. Upon arrival the cheerful staff welcomed me and did a fantastic job looking after my needs. The room was clean, bright and had great windows and a little patio that I enjoyed. Hotel ammenities and services were all good. One challenge is that it can be loud at night. Some of the rooms face towards the new Whistler Park where they play live music and have celebrations. I personally enjoyed the Reggae jam and it did end fairly early so you weren't kept awake late at night. A side note - the hotel is super dog friendly!

Thank you Notlegallyblonde for your review and comments, we love being both a dog and people friendly hotel! :D
Please feel free to enquire about our poolside rooms if you require an extra quiet night stay. Our pool view rooms face on to the back of a quiet park, and are out of ear shot of any street noise.

My fiance and i just got back from here today! it was our second stay in whistler and first time at the summit lodge and spa! From the moment we arrived it was the most relaxing trip we have had! This is the most dog friendly hotel we have stayed at! Everyone was happy and friendly with our little one! We stayed in a king studio suite which was on the back of the property. It was extreamly quiet and we did not here any noise. Considering the kokanee crankworx festival was going on this weekend you could not here a peep! This hotel was in the perfect location and you could walk from one end of the village to the other in about ten minutes! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting relaxation and who is traveling with a pet. The staff were also very helpful on recommending dining venues!

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The hotel is in a good location, close enough to walk to all the aspects of the village but not right in the heart that you get all the traffic and noise of people.

The rooms are a great size, have a balcony, fireplace, couch, two closests and a decent sized kitchenette. The bathroom could be a little bigger (have to close the door to get into the shower)

The staff is exceptionally friendly and very knowledgable about the area and good spots to visit. The only two complaints I have are... the bed isnt the best I have been on and pillows were awful (to be fair I made no attempt to get a different one from the front desk) and secondly the pool / hot tub ... they have not been properly maintained. the deck has huge trees behind it, which is very nice and scenic however means lots of debris in the pool and hot tub and apparently no one comes and checks on it or cleans it more than once a day(assuming they do it once a day) The hot tub had actual dirt settled on the bottom and the pool floor looked dirty, like it hadnt been cleaned in some time.

If the hotel would upgrade the bedding, but more importantly maintain the pool better it was be perfect. Having said that I would stay here again.

Room Tip: one that faces pool area

We recently stayed with Summit Lodge as I was in Whistler for business. I brought my husband, 2 kids (ages 2 and 4) as well as our dog Buddy. The hotel was easy to find and centrally located - we could walk pretty much everywhere we needed to. It was also very clean and the staff were extremely welcoming to both the kids and the dog (this is not always the case at every hotel). They even had a board that had the visiting dogs names on it as a welcome! Our room was also clean and suited us well. For work I took advantage of the from Wifi. We enjoyed using the pool and hot tub and were given great advice from the front desk on places to see and where to eat. We'll definitely stay there again.

Nothing to complain about at all. Location is great. Hotel staff are super nice and informative. We got a nice and quiet room facing the pool and hot tub. The room is clean and the kitchen is well-equipped. The bed is super comfortable too (we had a king size bed). Sometimes you can find free parking deals online, but if not, then you'll have to pay. Definitely recommend it!:)

We stayed in the Summit Lodge & spa Hotel for a night in June of 2010! The hotel is located almost in the heart of the village, five minutes walking from the shopping area and the restaurants.
The hotel was beautiful, the facilities were great, the staff were helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean and fairly well-appointed.
The price was fair enough considering the average in the area of Whistler!

In overall I would highly recommend the Summit Hotel!

Stayed there for Saturday evening initially was booked into the deluxe studio suite facing the pool but was horrified upon arriving due to it's claustrophobic nature. The room was too small no balcony and a huge tree was blocking the entire window? We switched and upgraded to a deluxe Junior suite facing the street sigh* much better it cost us but well worth it. The suite was great but there's still no great views at all this hotel regardless. There is a view of "Le Chateau" clothing store though haha... sigh8 so much for leaving the city behind..There is no recycling bins in the suite so you throw everything in the garbage :( That is very BAD in my opinion what happened to Whistler's Green idea?the bonus was it's attached to "Elements" which hands down is the best breakfast restaurant in whistler. Clean and quiet, just remember to avoid the deluxe studio suite and you'll be fine!

Room Tip: deluxe junior suites facing street room 315

Thank you for your feedback.
Summit Lodge staff believe in the importance and necessity of stewarding well the Earth's resources. As we continue to strive towards the greenest choices we have been recognized for our consistent efforts. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of instances regarding a misuse of recycling bins by guests in the past, recycling bins are now are now available to all guests only on request. In turn, our housekeeping staff are trained and are highly diligent to separate recycling on behalf of our guests.
In addition, we have been delighted contribute to charitable efforts, including donating our left over toiletries to organisations such as the Lookout Society.
