“Extremely enjoyable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2007

We spent an amazing weekend at the Pinnacle!
We were impressed with the front desk staff's professionalism, the amazing high vaulted ceilings of our top floor deluxe suite, and the beautiful view of Blackcomb Mt. from our balcony, which allowed more than enough space for two chairs for our morning coffee. We were fortunate to have one of the larger balconies - we noticed that balcony depths vary depending on the suite.

We had a wonderful romantic dinner at Quattro: the food and the ambiance were excellent, and the staff were again very accommodating and professional!

We also enjoyed our brief dips in the outdoor pool, hot tub and the in-suite jacuzzi.

Check-out was early, 10 AM, but we were provided with temporary passes which allowed us access to the parkade and the pool's showers. This came in very handy after skiing the glacier that day!

We just stayed at the Pinnacle Hotel. Our stay was excellent. It is really nice, clean and beautiful. It is in the middle of everything but still has the quite and peaceful surroundings. The views from the hotel of the Blackcomb mountain are excellent.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

We go to Whistler every winter and tried to go on a budget this time. We stayed at the Pinnacle for the low price.

Our room reminded me of living in a trailer, it was cramped, yet it had everything we needed, so I really can't complain. It was a bit of a walk to the slopes, but do-able, and it is close enough to the village for nightlife.

So if you are on a budget, go for it, but if you want to impress your wife/girlfriend...skip it and get something nicer.

My fiance and I were first-time visitors to Whistler, and had booked at the Pinnacle due to its kitchenette facilities and jacuzzi hot-tub in the room. It was, without a doubt, the best hotel (and holiday) we have ever had.

The studio room has an area for relaxing on the sofa and watching TV, which was fantastic - this felt separate from the kitchen and bed, making it more cosy. The bed itself was SO comfy! The kitchen was fully equipped with huge fridge, cooker, toaster etc, so we were able to stock up on plenty of food. That was a huge advantage.

The jacuzzi hot-tub was amazing! Relaxing in that after a long day's skiing just cannot be beaten! The shower was also fantastic - probably the most powerful one we have seen anywhere.

House service was always attentive and on hand, and the hotel staff always greeted us warmly whenever we returned to the hotel each day. It was a very friendly place to stay. The supermarket is located just a few minutes walk away, and the hotel is situated near some fantastic restaurants. (Note - Mongolie Grill - an absolute must! I think they knew us by name at the end of the fortnight.)

We really cannot praise the Pinnacle enough! We've already booked for another 2 weeks, for our honeymoon, and can not wait to return.

  • Liked — The amazing jacuzzi tub!
  • Disliked — A little too far from the gondolas, but its only a 10 minute walk!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pinnacle for a week this March and had a great stay! The hotel was within easy walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants and bars in the village but tucked away in a corner so you away in a corner so you avoided the noise of people leaving bars late at night. The room was very spacious and the sofa and deck were great to relax on after riding. The double person jetted tub was a bit weird but we did use it once and it was nice. The staff was very nice and always willing to suggest a restaurant or provide directions. For the money (we paid $139 a night canadian) I don't think you could get a better place in the village.

True the tv was small but we didn't mind because we can to snowboard all day not watch TV. The kitchen is good for keeping drinks cold or maybe making a quick easy breakfast or lunch but I wouldn't plan on making dinner or anything that requires cooking. It's very basic but everything worked. The hot tub/pool was a bit weird too. The windows from the restaurant looked out onto it. We skipped the pool and the restaurant.

The hotel is very close to a few great places though. The grocery store is right around the corner and there is a great breakfast at a place called elements nearby that's a must if you go.

Great trip overall and I'd def. return to this hotel. Look else where if you want a romantic full service get away though.

  • Liked — The location, price and space the rooms provided
  • Disliked — nothing. We got exactly what we expected!

We had a fantastic time in Whistler staying at the Pinnacle. The rooms were a decent size and very clean. I liked the bath/jacuzzi being in the bedroom - quite sociable to soak in the tub, frolic with my boyfriend, watch tv, and have a glass of wine all at the same time! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - on this basis I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Whistler in the future.

We stayed at the Pinnacle for 7 nights for a ski trip. First impressions of the room weren't great - the decor in the hallway, kitchentte and bathroom was decidedly dated, however the main bedroom side of the room was fine. My main dislikes were the cooker, which looked really old, and the shower in the bathroom, which was entirely made from moulded plastic.

We had been put in one of the two largest rooms on our floor, so it is possile we had more storage than some other rooms - we had a large closed in the hallway which was good for storing/drying ski/snowboard gear and other outerwear. There was also a broom cupboard and a small chest of drawers, though not really sufficient to properly unpack.

However, the initial impression really isn't everything - and the room at the Pinnacle turned out to be very functional. We cooked most of our breakfasts and some dinners in the kitchenette, used the double jacuzzi tub pretty much every day after skiing, watched dvd's on the dvd player, and enjoyed the gasfire.

The one bad impressions that remained was the heating system - a wall mounted aircon/space heater which was extremely noisy and smelt pretty bad. We opted not to use it, relying on the gas fire, and were quite cold - wouldn't like to imagine it mid winter.

There is ski storage on the ground floor, and the ski bus stops right outside the rear exit of the hotel. The stop is the second stop on the route so you beat the crowds in the morning and get off early in the afternoon when the bus is cramped. The hotel is handily located right between the village and the marketplace so anywhere is a 5-10 minute walk including the large grocery store.

The staff were all friendly and housekeeping do a really great job - I was very impressed with them.

All in all it wasn't a bad stay, certainly better than a lot of similar European properties, and if I did Whistler on a budget again, I wouldn't be opposed to re-visiting the Pinnacle.
