“We love the Crystal Lodge!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2010

Crystal Lodge has the BEST location in Whistler, right in the centre of the village. The one bedroom king size room was large and the jacuzzi tub the best. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Great location in the lower Village, minutes to the Gondola. Booked on Hotwire and got a rate of $84 US. The only downside was that there was no free internet access in the rooms, although WiFi was free in the lobby. There is only one computer in the business centre, so if you want to use it to check your email, might have to wait. Front desk service was very helpful and friendly and the restaurant in the hotel (Ric's Grill) was very good with a 3 course dinner for $35.

Dear Peggy8888,

Thanks very much for taking the time to share your feedback. Looks like you found a great deal on Hotwire ! Only challenge there of course is you never know what hotel you might get. That said, glad you found and enjoyed us. I am pleased to see you found our employees were very helpful and friendly and you enjoyed Ric's Grill in our lobby. Autumn certainly is the absolute best value season in Whistler for both hotels and restaurants. A quick note for your next visit, we do have complimentary internet in our Deluxe Rooms and Suites (effective Oct 1). We of course do offer it in the lobby and business centre as well. The traditional rooms - our most cost effective - do have a charge of $9.95 per day. Thanks again, and hope to see you in Whistler again !

Best Regards

After our daughter's wedding 3 weeks before (we live in Ontario) and our nieces wedding just two days before in Abbotsford, B.C., and after 14 years of having not been totally alone with my husband on a vacation without any of our 4 children, we sure were both looking forward to some leisure, fun and quiet time in Whister at the Crystal Lodge. WE WERE DEFINITELY NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! From the moment we pulled up to the back (street) front lobby at this hotel, we were greeted by two helpful attendants standing outside the hotel to greet and help us. Throughout our stay there, the staff at the front desk were always smiling and more than helpful, always going out of their way to help or explain anything and whatever they could to make our 3 day stay as enjoyable as possible. When we told one of the smiling, happy young man at the front desk that we were from Mississauga, Ontario, he totally lit up and told us he was from this city too - his family lived only 10 minutes from our home! What a welcome we had from him! We loved our room which was absolutely spotless! Very impressed. Our room faced the back (street) front lobby entrance and it was always quiet. We were never bothered by noise at all. This hotel is beautifully located in the centre of the village! Perfect! Fabulous places to eat, drink, with trails to walk along close by and a 2-minute walk to the gondola/peak-to-peak! There's even a wonderful and cheap $5 breakfast (two eggs, toast, bacon, orange) just steps away from Lodge too! The Spaghetti Factory is just one of the restaurants in this hotel and a great place to eat - inexpensive, hot and delicious! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone! If I were to return again to Whistler, the Crystal Lodge Hotel would be my first and only choice - it would be like being in heaven in every way! Thanks to all the staff at this hotel for making the time my husband and I spent in Whister the most memorable and enjoyable time ever!

Dear Wasagabeachouse,

Thanks so much for taking the time share your feedback. Wow ! That's all I have to say...I am so pleased to read your review- I could have read 3 pages of it ! By the way - would you like a job marketing our hotel ? In all seriousness, I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay, our employees and the location we are so fortunate to offer in the village. Sounds like you were in one of our deluxe rooms; certainly tremendous value. We hope to have the pleasure to look after you again.

I rated the hotel very good, because of its central location and value. The rooms were ok. I hit my head on the ceiling going out to the balcony. The air conditioning was a unit stuck in the wall that droned loudly and didn't cool the room very evenly. We were also surprised to return to our room while it was being cleaned even though we had called housekeeping to request them not to do so (the hotel donates $5 per person to charity when the housekeeping service is not needed). The sauna was cold. Breakfast was expensive. It is a good place to sleep, while enjoying Whistler.

Dear Suur_D,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your review of our hotel. I am pleased to read you rated the hotel as very good. I do appreciate the feedback regarding the air conditioning noise in that room (we will determine the room and have a thorough review). As well, it appears there was a miscommunication on the housekeeping service- thank you for making the effort to reduce your carbon footprint. We will be sure to credit our account (we have chosen David Suzuki's Foundation) to help reduce the carbon footprint for your service and choice. I should quickly note as well that we do keep the sauna at a lower temperature when not in use - though it does quickly heat up - to help in our ongoing environmental efforts. Perhaps we should review that default setting. We continuously review the balance between Green initiatives and Guest Expectations. While it is somewhat subjective for all - we strive to get the perfect balance. Thanks again for choosing The Crystal. We hope to have you join us (all the way from Brussels!) again.

Best Regards,

The Crystal Lodge was a great place to enjoy our friend's wedding. Our room had beautiful exposed wood beams and a balcony overlooking Whistler. The king sized bed was comfortable and the sheets very soft! Our room also came with very comfy robes. We ate at Rics grill for the reception and it was delicious! The central location of the hotel enabled us to check out the shops and restaurants in the village. The outdoor Jacuzzi and swimming pool were a great start to the day after a long night out. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgable about the area. We would definitely stay here again!!

We were not planning on staying in Whistler thinking it may be too pricey for us! but we are so glad we did. The rates at this time of the year are exceptional for this quality of accommodation and service and location. From the moment we rode up on our motorbike, the staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. Our room was of the highest quality, clean and well maintained. The location right in the village was perfect and we enjoyed Whistler Village and will definitely return, net time for a couple of nights at least. This hotel stay was the highlight of our road trip this year.

Dear Sashala,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Our team will be very excited to hear that we were the highlight of your trip ! You make a great point that Whistler is still perceived as expensive, when much of the year it is actually great value and less expensive (at least hotels) than many other locations. We look forward to welcoming you back - summer or winter - and having you stay for a little longer as you stated.. There is too much to see and do in just a day or two !

When I visit Whistler, I love to stay at the Crystal since it has that great combination of comfortable, modern rooms with friendly associates.

I have stayed in a few rooms here and always enjoyed the amenities. They have a few dining options to choose from which is awesome. (They even have a Starbucks that you can get to from the lobby)

Everyone is always very helpful and takes the time to speak with me on a personal level. If you are in Whistler and you want to stay in the middle of the village near everything, I would recommend this location.
