The location is perfect - right in the village, but not on the walkway therefore not having to deal with noise during the nights when people return from clubs, etc (have done that before and didn't get much sleep). We were a travel party of four with two separate hotel rooms booked, we received complimentary upgrades to one-bedroom suites on check-in which were wonderful - well laid out rooms, compact and efficient with everything you may need. Especially liked the door between the tub/shower and toilet/basin - allows privacy and multi-use. Kitchen was fully stocked with 4-person kitchen table. Sufficient closet space for longer stays. Balcony was great for morning coffees - we were on 3rd level with mountain and pool views. Great customer service - all-around the friendliest staff I have experienced in a long time. Amenities were enjoyed - limited but sufficient work-out area; 3 hot-tubs preventing over-crowded spaces; especially liked that the interior hot-tub had an extended curfew until 11pm (and not the usual 10pm); loved the heated pool - perfect temperature!
Had a negative experience with a young crowd on our floor - drinking and fighting at 3am, heard 8-10 people in the room; after calls to management it calmed down in around an hour - difficult situation but may have been dealt with faster. Please note that their minimum age to check in is 19yrs (vs. 25 yrs of many other Whistler accommodations) therefore potentially attracting more stag and stagette parties ...?Management did apologize the next day and sent over small basket with card signed by all front desk staff.
All-around a pleasant and comfortable stay.

We were in suite 1411. Excellent quality bedroom, lounge, kitchen, bathroom areas provided. All the facilities in each of the areas were high quality and in first class state of repair.

There was a huge (well by UK standards!) washing machine and dryer provided in one cupboard, iron and ironing board, dish washer! Very good set of pans, cooking utensils, toaster, kettle, coffee maker etc - not forgetting the very large kitchen sink!

Only ground coffee - 1 sachet - and milk powder given in the room.

There was a tv in the lounge as well as the bedroom. The loo and bath/shower were seperated by connecting doors. The bed was large and very comfortable and we slept very soundly.

The room was fully air conditioned/heated and had a large faux gas log fire in the lounge area which looked great when alight! If being very picky the lounge area was a little crowded with furniture - all of which was very comfortable but I felt one chair less would have been better but that's just a personal preference.

There was a very small balcony and as the room was located at the back of the hotel it overlooked out towards the swimming pool area. It was quiet and cool with just the windows open.

An 'honesty' basket of confectionary and biscuits was in the room - plus cans of coke and bottled water in the fridge. The prices seemed fair.

The hotel is only a few yards from the cobbled traffic free 'central' area of Whistler (we felt Whistler was 'Disney does Alpine ski resort' but I mean that nicely) which was very pleasant to walk around with plenty of good restaurants/cafes/shops etc. If you walk right through the central area you end up at the Blackcomb ski lift - we went to the top of the mountain (well as far as you were allowed as it was 28 degrees and wonderfully sunny so the very top of the mountain was out of bounds) and it was a really worthwhile and fun thing to do.

By chance it was the Victoria Day holiday weekend when we were there - others in our party, who had rooms at the front of the hotel or side, had very disturbed times with lots of sirens going and drunks in the streets shouting.

My wife, 5 year old and I booked for a ski vacation just after January 2008. Because of the age of our small child we paid up for a kitchenette. The nightly rate was over $350, not cheap. We phoned in advance and asked if the kitchen was fully stocked. I specifically asked "do I need to bring cutlery". "No", was the reply. "The kitchen is completely stocked:. We bought a ton of food and made no reservations as we planned to save money eating in. On the first night we tried to make dinner. Only eating knives that were so blunt they wouldn't cut the chicken breast. We called the front desk, and asked for a knife. We waited and had to call again as noone showed in 20 minutes. A few minutes later, someone showed up and said no sharp knives. We asked them to go to the kitchen. They came back, "no sharp knives". By now we had been waiting well over an hour. We left the food, later we threw that away losing $50+, and went out. It was late, we had no reservation at the busiest time of the year. We walked and walked, finally at 8pm we got into a place fr dinner. We then got home so late, our daughter slept in the next morning and missed an expensive ski lesson. So, the lack of a $20 knife cost us $400. No problem we thought, the Blue Ribbon guarantee wll save us. It says "if any ONE item is overlooked then we get a one night refund" WE contacted the hotel;, they refused us. "Thats not the spirit of the guarantee" They said. "It is meant for unmade beds and such". Frankly an unmade bed would have been a cinch to fix. They also said "we gave you a knife" Well my Websters defines a knife as something that cuts. Maybe they will next give you sheets on a Queen that are off a baby's crib. Bottom line is be VERY careful with these jokers if you have a reservation, if not go elsewhere. We will never go again, that one night cost us over $750. They have no scruples, it is not worth the hassle and someone shoudl sue them over unfulfilled Blue Ribbon guarantees.

Fantastic hotel, am looking to book again for 2009.

I stayed there for 11 nights in Feb 2008 with my partner and we had the best holiday ever !! The hotel was spotless. We had a 1 bedroom apartment and it had everything we needed including a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The staff were friendly and the maintenance man even went into our apartment every day to turn the fire on for us for when we got back from skiing. (after asking us first if that was OK!)

Perfect location and if you don't want to walk to the slopes they run a bus every 10 minutes to take you there.

We stayed here in March for 13 nights. Located in centre of village with 7-9 minute walk to bottom of ski slopes/ski lifts (depending on how fast you walk) . If you don't enjoy walking the hotel minibus (seats 10) runs every 5 minutes or so - only on one day did we have to wait because of a queue. Minibus drops you off within one minute walk of lifts. Very central to shops - in fact Whistler has great, safe pedestrian only main street.
Whistler was just great for skiing - snowed at some point every day while we were there so best ski conditions I've had in over 25 years skiing and more off-piste skiing than I've done in 25 years too- the powder was to die for. Locals were saying that this was one of their best years for skiing. Great range of slopes to suite all abilities, and lots of runs thru the trees - by use a helmet!
Hotel was excellent - v clean and spacious - we had 2 bedroom suite on 6th floor - family with 2 teenage boys. We were on sixth floor with great views towards Blackcombe. Some friends were on second floor and did get noise occasionaly from nightclub. Very adequate facilities to cook in and arrange breakfast. Cleaned daily and new towels etc when you want. Hotel facilities a bit limited - adequate pool, sauna, and hot tubs which the kids enjoyed regularly though I tested only a few times. Hotel staff v friendly - they don't have restaurant, though linked to a Milestones next door. They keep skis in ski shop on ground floor and your wear your ski boots to your room. Never any problems with hot water or anything - no complaints at all. Didn't give it 5 stars largely because facilities were I felt a little limited, though not sure what else to expect - it isn't slopeside but then again you pay big money for that benefit.
Some great food in Whistler - compared to European resorts it's cheap to eat up mountains but don't expect quaint little restaurants - at Whistler they hold several hundred people.
Down town we ate out on several nights. Best food was at Hy's Steakhouse next door to Delta by the way - bit more expensive but food/service outstanding. Good range and quality also at Earls, while cheap and cheerful at Old Spaghetti Factory. We were there during easter week and village busy - you need to book restaurants for big parties, though slopes were empty compared to Europe skiing at this time of year. We did freshtracks one am - lift opens 7.15am (but be there at 7.00am) for breakfast up teh mountain and then be first out on the powder/groomed slopes at shortly after 8.00am - cost c 17 dollars per head - works well for europeans who have just arrived and will be wide awake at that hour anyway.
We took couple of days off skiing - recommend the ziptreck - 3 hours of adrenline rush - not cheap but certainly worth it once (try the Eagle tour with one zipline over 2200 feet.
Kids did Tube Park but found 2 hours hard work - but enjoyable. Kids also love 'Cows' - indeed they went there for an ice-cream on most nights - its a shop half way down mainstreet.
