“The lake that always shifts appearance in Whistler”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Visit Lost lake whever you are in Whistler. The lake offers such different faces each time of the year. Sometimes it is so mirror like that you believe it is a painting with the mountains and trees reflected in it. Sometimes it is full of snow and ice and looks like it is sleeping. The setting is so peaceful and the trails around it are so nice. You can walk, jog, bike or just go swimming. It also has fishing. It is deep, with a sudden drop if you are wading into it, so be careful. It is a bit chilly, but if you take a jog first, it is great to jump into it after and swim to one of the floating decks. Only a 20 minutes walk from downtown village or take a bus in the summer. Winter time, you can only get there on skis or snowshoes and you need to buy a day pass. In the summer, look out for the bears. Last summer there was a Mama Bear and two cubs roaming around. Just stay away and watch from a distance.

“Nice Close Spot for Cross Country Skiing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

I had my equipment, but my spouse rented skis and realized he would like new ones now...The rental shop was helpful in advising him and even helped me wax my skiis. The trails we took were short and easy with a beautiful view of the lake when the weather cleared. We got a discount on trail use the first couple days, as not all were open; the third day, prices went up and seemed a bit steep, especially since they still hadn't been able to open up more trails. More people were getting out apparently, and that was reason enough to charge full price. We might go elsewhere for a different experience next time, but it was nice to only have to drive 5 minutes to get to this location.

“Snow shoeing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

We went snow shoeing for the first time and enjoyed a walk that got the heart rate up a little without being too strenuous. Staff at the rental shop were friendly, helpful and informative.

“Snowshoeing - a must for non skiers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

As someone who does not ski - i"ve found a great alternative - snow shoeing . V easy to do , not expensive but provides the opportunity to see breathtaking scenery
