“Fairmont and Whistler is the perfect combination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

We had a Wonderful week at Fairmount Chateau Whistler. We had reserved a two bed room on the Fairmont Gold 8th floor, but we were upgraded to an Executive Suite by Peter. We are very grateful for the upgrade!
We have stayed at the Chateau once before and this time we wanted to try the Fairmont Gold with its own lounge room where they serve a complimentary breakfast buffet, and in the afternoon they serve canapés. In the lounge you can play games, chill and have a glass of wine, beer or complimentary coffee or sodas. I believe the lounge is nice if you feel a bit crowded in the regular room.
However, the regular rooms and the Fairmont Gold rooms are decorated the same, the difference is the personalized Gold service; for example, they have DVDs and Daniel delivered popcorn to our room. Tiffany was also a sweetheart and always very attentive and brought hot chocolate to our daughter every day.

Ok, so how is the rest of the Chateau? It is the best ski-in, ski-out I have stayed at. The rental store/ ski valet is in the basement. All you have to do is walk down in your loafers and ask for your ski-boots and then your skis, then walk outside and there is the chairlift.
The hotel also has a great after ski lounge with live entertainment. The pool and spa is nice, and they even have a separate pool only for laps. And "yes" they serve drinks in the hot tub :-)
The gym is ok with treadmills and pretty much all the machines you need.

The hotel offers several dining options such as The Portobello Cafe, the Mayflower, and the Grill.

The whistler village is just a short walk from the hotel and there you'll find plentiful of restaurants and bars for entertainment. There is also a grocery store, pharmacy, hardware, and more ski stores than you'll ever need.

The skiing in whistler is also the best. The slopes are almost always pristine, and there is slopes for every kind of skier or snowboarder. Whistler is my favorite resort of all.

Best of luck,

Magnus

We were a party of 4 with my wife and my parents. We all stayed in Fairmont Gold rooms and were not disappointed. The room itself is nothing too impressive but is still nice especially with a fire which helps dry wet gear! There was three different types of pillows which it took me several days to find the right one (happened to be the one not on the bed). Access to the Gold lounge was great with good breakfast and almost continuous food all day. Additionally with the honour bar meant everything required was at easy access. The team on the gold floor were great and helped a lot with bookings and getting whatever we required.
The hotel as a whole had a number of great restaurants which we tried from the grill to the lounge all were great with good service at all. We used the Vida spa as well which was good and catered for my pregnant wife. I used the gym facilities and hot tubs and pool all were good quality and clean. The only negative is possibly the hot tub was too hot! Location to the slopes was great with close access to lifts and a rental store and lift passes etc available at the bottom of the hotel. All in all we had a great time at the Fairmont, would recommend the gold rooms / floor and can’t wait to get back to whistler!

Room Tip: Stay on the gold floors as the extra money is worth it. Mountain view is best but some views are blo...

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. The location is fantastic just minutes from the Black Comb Wizard lift and walkable to all stores in the Whistler Village. The room was clean and the amenities in the room were nice. The only complaint is the pillows were flat, but overall room was fine for the 3 of us. As president's club members, free wifi was good! Parking is expensive at $35 self or $39 valet/night. We had a casual breakfast one morning at Portobella where we each tried a sandwich and it was fine. Nothing amazing, but we were in and out quickly so we could hop on the lifts. The room has a little fridge so we bought yogurt and granola at the grocery store in the Village for breakfast the other days. The next time we are in Whistler Canada, we would be happy to stay here again!

The place is very nice, right by the skying slopes and lifts. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Amenities are great. Excellent service. Bit costly, parking is $35 daily. Internet about $14 daily. Nonetheless, two thumbs up!!!

I recently visited the Fairmont Whistler. I booked a last minute room through Expedia and saved about $100 from the lowest published price on the Fairmont website. The rooms were clean and comfortable but somewhat non-descript. The lobby and pool area are highlights. The lobby bar has comfortable seating and nice après ski vibe. The pool area/healthclub are large and spacious with outdoor/indoor heated pool and nice hot tubs. There is also a pool bar. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I was somewhat surprised that check out is so early at 11:00 a.m. Location at base of Blackcomb is convenient for skiing.

Room Tip: Comparison shop since rates vary quite a bit. Great spa; enjoyed hot rock and Swedish massages.

We recently stayed at the the Fairmont in Whistler and had a great time. We decided to upgrade to a gold room. They were on special. Room was very comfortable, but a little warm. Bed was great and the bathroom was very spacious.

We enjoyed the great buffet breakfast. Much better than it was last time we were here. Cappuccinos etc available in the club room all day long. Appies in the afternoon and sweets available in the evenings. We took great advantage of them. There was also an honor bar and free non-alcoholic beverages.

Service is the best at this hotel. The location is great as it is at the bottom of Blackcomb Mountain. Basically ski in and ski out.

Loved it.

Room Tip: Gold rooms worth it if you are going to take advantage of all the extras. Whistler isn't that e...

Nice location, room is small and looks worn out. The.dinners on the terrace is great, ingredients are fresh. Golf is sopposed to be complimentary with our package but it is worth a round if you have time. Great pool and spa facilities, definitely worth a visit.
