We stayed here at the end of September - a great time to go to Whistler. Great hiking, biking, weather is still nice, etc. I had stayed at the Pan Pacific a few times so booked it again as I have always loved it. However, this time I mixed up the 2 Pan Pacifics - booked Mtn side when I meant to book the other one. When I saw the location (right at the base of the mountain) i thought, well maybe this is a good mistake. However, I was disappointed. Pan Pacifics are always nice, as this one was too. But the lobby is just mediocre, pool ok not great, and the restaurant (some irish pub/restaurant) quite boring. Our room was nice, great with kids, and the location certainly very central. However the other Pan Pacific is much more attractive, feels more high end, and seems to attract a better quality of patron - the Mountain side (being at the base of the mountain with all the mountain bikers etc hanging out right in front) seems to attract more of a party crowd. So, depends what you are looking for, but next time I will not stay here.
