“Amazing Greek Restaurant in Victoria”

The best meal we ever had!! Very friendly environment. The service was excellent. We ordered a lot of different dishes and as everybody we enjoyed calamari and prawns a la greek, and the greek platter was amazing. We were trying to find anything that we didn't like, but we couldn't. Great job, guys!!!

“Adamopolous brothers are a Hit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

A special night with wonderful Australian friends, on their way back to Melbourne. Our friend Dougi is Greek and we were given special treats! The food was excellent, spanakopita, meatballs and tzatziki, too many dolmades for an appetiser, so had to share, and Greek dancing and broken plates all night! We loved it, and the young men made us feel very special! We will be back. Our waitress was the happiest young lady we have ever seen. The rule about no alcohol out on the patio is ridiculous, but not their fault, I suppose.

“Excellent Greek food and an escape from the Government St. & Wharf St. tourist traps”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

On our Victoria stop of our Alaskan cruise we sought out a good local restaurant that was removed from the cruise ship crush in and around the Inner Harbor. Ithaca restaurant will not disappoint.

If you are standing at the front door of the Fairmont Empress Hotel and facing the waterfront- turn right on Government St. and keep walking until you hit Yates St. Turn right on Yates St. and keep walking until you hit the Ithaka Restaurant on the corner of Cook St. Ithaka is about one mile - and about a 15 to 20 minute walk - from the Empress Hotel. On the walk you'll get increasingly concerned as you move into a more and more residential area... keep going... you are almost there.

Fresh Greek food and deserts. Engaging owners and staff. We can't say enough good things about this local restaurant.

We were the only "Cruisers" in there. Exactly what we were looking for.

No taxis to be seen around this restaurant. If you have a tight departure time - make sure you leave enough time to hoof it back to the Empress for the port Shuttle or taxi.

“Best Greek restaurant in Victoria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Our family of four just had a fabulous meal at Ithaka and would highly recommend it for the wonderful food, excellent service and friendly, fun atmosphere.
The Greek ribs and pork souvlaki were especially good - and don't leave without having a piece of the baklava! Our waitress was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable and the meal was served at just the right pace - we never waited too long, nor felt rushed.
The owners are two energetic, friendly young men who in between checking on their guests, answering the phone and pouring drinks, played bouzouki and danced.
They have also redecorated the restaurant, making it more modern and fresh, while retaining a homey Greek feel.
A good choice for both couples and families, or a solo meal. Very child friendly. This was our second meal under these new owners and we will definitely be back. Good value too - generous portions.

“Hometown Heroes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

The Adamopoulos brothers are originally from my neck of the woods in Ontario, Canada. They are young, friendly, energetic, hardworking and know how to run a Greek restaurant... the family runs the only Greek restaurant in their hometown of Kenora, Ontario afterall. The environment at Ithaka is casual, but bright and clean. And, the food... the food is excellent!! With mom's experience in the kitchen, this family offering is one you and your family will enjoy. Go in and give this new, locally-run business your support!
