“Great Treat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

It's a favourite place to go for an evening treat on our way to/from a walk on the beach. This place reminds me of being a kid when after we'd spend the day at the beach, salty french fries with vinegar and a great tasting burger just fit. Don't change anything!!

“It's all about the location and the ice cream!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Think healthy modern urban cuisine...ok - now imagine the opposite. This is a 50's type diner and is all about summer line-ups for wild ice-cream swirly treats, shakes, and fries. The soft serve is actually pretty good - the sandwiches and other meals are pretty average in my opinion, but that's not why you should come. Come for the huge variety of ice cream treats, the cool 50's feel, and the amazing location, steps away from Beacon Hill park and an incredible view to Washington state's Olympic Peninsula.

Bottom line: this place is a lot of fun!

“Best soft serve in town.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

If you show up at the right time you can watch them pour litre cartons of cream into the ice cream machine. Don't let this deter you though - this soft serve is the best you can find. I recommend a chocolate dipped cone.

“Not for me”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

The place is packed and the food looks good - we had sandwiches. NOT what the drive- in is known for. There was no filling in my egg salad sandwich and mayo was added thickly to the bread? My friends Turkey sandwich had gobs of mayo - I kid you not.... For ice cream and hamburgers, fries and hotdogs. this may be for you. They seem to have a fairly efficient service window. Nice to sit outside and conveniently located across from Beacon Hill Park.

“Walkin' in the Park? check out the 'Freakin Beacon'”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

This is a throwback to the 50's. High fat low fibre comfort food for the ages. Fun & simple fare but don't expect anything 'special'. Enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Average quality fried stuff served on paper plates with old fashioned condiments. Soft Ice cream, if one likes that style is the big seller and has it's devotees.
