“One of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at the Oswego for one week in November on business. My first experience was a helpful front desk staff and help bringing my loads of luggage to my room. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. I felt like I had moved into my own place for the week! The floor to ceiling windows were a welcome site during the day. The room was bright and cheery. The kitchen had all new appliances and I was able to make most meals there which saved $$ and I didn't get sick of restaurant food. I only visited the bistro a few times, but the chicken and Brie sandwich was delicious. The location of the hotel was perfect- close to everything yet off the Main Street so nice and quiet. I cannot say enough about the staff at the hotel and all of the effort they made to make my experience excellent. I would recommend this for business (the boardroom was also awesome) and also for couples or families. Don't bother with the big chain hotels, this boutique hotel is a much better choice.

the hotel overall is very nice, check in was efficient and the clerk pleasant. The room had very nice décor and amenities. The carpets however were very dirty and had spots everywhere. The bathroom had a musty smell all tho it was clean. Towels were thick and spotless as were the robes. Kitchen was beautifully done, all modern with a dishwasher. I would stay here again.
The restaurant was over priced, $4.00 for 2 strips of bacon, for what you got. would not eat there again.

Thank you for staying with us and also for taking the time to post an online review.

Our apologies that you encountered some issues with your suite. Carpet cleaning is ongoing throughout the hotel year round. We are also in the middle of our winter deep cleaning, continual carpet cleaning and refreshing of all of the suites is occurring at this time.

All of our hotel guests receive 20% discount when dining in the bistro. We continually listen to our guests and how we can improve. I will discuss your points with our chef to give him further feedback.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Oswego in the not to distant future.

We had a recent stay three night at the Oswego Hotel in Victoria BC. We usually stay right near the downtown core, closer to Government Street. This time we wanted somewhere a little quiter and chose the Oswego, which is closer to the Black Ball ferry terminal and the Laurel Point Inn. We had a room with a Queen Bed in a separate room and a pull out sofa for our daighter. There was a full kitchen, separate shower and bath and two TVs. The room was clean, modern and very nice. The stay was in all respects excellent. The only complaint, if any, was that we were on the second floor of this 10 floor hotel over the front entranceway and there was some light that came in from the signage. However that was still minimal.

We didn't try the restaurant or bar but they looked nice. I tried the weight room. All hotel weight rooms are cramped but this machinery was fine and new.

Ther is underground parking.

I suggest a walk to Ogden Point Pier or a visit to the James Bay area as an alternative to heading downtown.

Thank you for your positive review about your recent stay with us.

We are pleased you enjoyed the hotel and our quieter location in the inner harbor. We hope that you come back and visit us again soon and perhaps enjoy the bistro during your next stay.

Thank you!

Stayed at this hotel in October for a Girlfriend Getaway Weekend. It fit our requirements perfectly.

The beds, including the pullout was very comfortable. We liked that there was a French press for coffee in the morning, a fridge to stash our left over dinner and cool down our white wine, and extra room to sit around chatting.

It is located within walking distance of a number of restaurants, brew pubs, quaint shopping, and attractions. You can also walk to the sea breaker (look for starfish, octopus, and divers), fisherman's warf (all those cute house boats and of course Barbs) and up and down the streets of James Bay.

We all commented that we would stay here again and even do so with our families as the kitchen is well equipped and the extra room gives everyone a bit of space.

Virtually on the edge of the downtown and Fisherman's Wharf, this stylish hotel is a guilty pleasure that makes you turn to your partner and say "can we really afford this?". Basically, a modern chic conversion with everything you could want and more for a single night or even to stay for months as it feels like a fully furnished condo. It's a block or two off the main road, so it's more peaceful than typical hotel locations. Jazz night in the hotel restaurant was a prime consideration, and was well worth it.

Wow we are so glad that you enjoyed the Oswego. Yes our spacious suites many of our guests enjoy for one night's stay or multiple nights.

Live Jazz every Wednesday is very popular for our guests, especially during the winter months just coming downstairs to enjoy food and music without having to head out into the winter weather.

We very much look forward to welcoming you back to stay with us again.

Thank you

We've stayed at the Oswego hotel twice this year, both times in the off-season.
You can't find a better hotel for comfort, style and value in the downtown area.
Everything from the service check-in, to the beautiful rooms and great room service will keep us coming back to this hotel.
The suites (we stayed in the standard 1 bedroom) have everything you need for your stay including a full kitchen with all appliances, a living room to relax in, and a bedroom with balcony.
It's a great place to relax when you're not exploring the sights of Victoria.
The hotel also has a really nice bistro restaurant on the main floor (with a very nice menu) that serves brunch, lunch and dinner.
The Oswego also has weekly and monthly rates. We're thinking that our next trip to Victoria might be a week stay.
You can't go wrong here!

Room Tip: If you like to be on a higher floor, the standard suites go up to the 6th floor, and premium suites...

Stayed at the Oswego Hotel for two nights in October. I was running the Victoria Marathon and chose this hotel based on location, which was perfect for me (close to start/finish area). Overall, I was really impressed with this hotel. Check-in was smooth, room was clean and spacious, and rates were affordable considering that this was Thanksgiving Day long weekend.

At this price range, I haven't stayed at a better hotel.

The only letdown was the absence of ice machine (I wanted plenty of ice for ice bath), but that's not a deal breaker. There are some ice cubes in the freezer.

Bang for buck, this was one of the best hotel that I stayed at. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Victoria.

Thank you for your positive comments. We do run room specials from time to time and we are glad that you enjoyed the Oswego during the busy Marathon weekend. Many runners stay with us enjoying our close location to the start and finish line.

We look forward to welcoming you again next year and we will make sure that ample ice is available.

Thank you!
