I got a very good deal at this hotel so that undoubtedly made me look favourably upon it. Here are the good and the bad points:
The Good-
Great rooms-we stayed in the fairways building in what essentially an apartment with a seperate living room and a full kitchen.
The location- despite there still being some construction work going on this wasn't instrusive and the setting was beautiful.
The pool- this was great for the first 2 days (see later comment).
Onsite eating- the onsite bars and restaurants are nice although (as we expected) a little expensive.
The Bad-
The pool- after Canada Day the resort became very busy. By about midday people were unable to get a seat around the pool. A place like this needs another (or a bigger) pool area.
Location- it's a short drive to Victoria which is fine but it is also a short drive to any other restaurants. Someone will have to drive.
Lack of information-I would have liked more information about the hotel and the area in the room (restaurant menus for example or details of a shuttle).
Overall this was a great place to stay.
