“Great location and good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

The hotel is well located close to the Government st. shops and restaurants, with the Imax cinema and other attractions nearby. The lower floors have no view, so if this matters to you try to get a room on the 11-16 floor. Parking is $16 for the day, which although expensive is cheaper than a time limited meter on the street. Breakfast was good, although a little pricey.

This is a great hotel with great views. The location is downtown within walking distance of everything. We were greeted in our room with a fantastic view of the Harbour and lights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff made us feel very welcome. Rooms are large and very clean with all amenities in the room. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We had room service for breakfast and the food was delicious and a fair price for having breakfast in bed.

Room Tip: As for a room with a Harbour View.

Newer Hotel in downtown Victoria City centre area, two blocks from the waterfront. One of the nicer Marriott's that we have stayed at with a large room that came with a desk and fridge. We have become accustomed when staying at the higher end Marriott's to their fabulous down covered mattresses; unfortunately, this Marriott did not have them. Excellent gym with lots of cardio equipment and some weights, small pool.

This is a walking neighbourhood, everything you can imagine is within ten blocks in every direction. Front desk staffs were excellent with lots of suggestions of local dining options and information about Victoria. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to stay again at this hotel.

Good hotel, attentive staff, great location. We stayed here for a quick 2 night pre christmas shopping trip and really enjoyed the hotel. Perhaps some rooms have a view but ours did not. All in all an excellent stay.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This is the second time I have reviewed this hotel. First time was in 2010. They did address an issue I did have at the time with the old 4:3 tv's, so they have upgraded to hdtv's. However, they are still a step behind, as many competitors offer hd services. Upon arrival, they did not have my reservation, and after a few phone calls, found my reservation under "exceptions" (whatever that is). I was not feeling a 100% and although the person at the front desk was friendly, it took too long to check in. They doprovide teas and coffees, but you are stuck with powered cream. Come on Marriott, if you're going to provide nice teas, provide us with real milk/cream. So now I have to go downstairs to the lobby to pick up some milk, then stand in line to pay for this at the front desk. It's not all negative, the rooms are fine (true though that many rooms are lacking views - I'm looking at the side of the building and the bus stop), and beds are comfortable. I use them for business, not my first choice, but they're usually available for last minute bookings, the rate is very reasonable for business people and the location is convenient, but there are many hotels in Victoria with equally good locations, and better views. So business it's okay but I would not recommend for vacationers (unless really good rate), or those special occasions until they work on the small stuff to make them more competitive with other hotels in the area. Last time I gave them an above average rating, and if you factor in every hotel in Victoria, it's probably above average, but if you are comparing the Marriott to similar properties, it's an average experience.

I really enjoyed my 3 day 2 night stay. Very clean and spacious rooms. Very nice and helpful staff. Good location - walking distance to main street with shops, restaurants and harbour area. There is a restaurant which had some basic stuff, but i only had a snack and drinks so i can't really comment on food. If i were to go back to Victoria - and i'd love to for pleasure - i'd definitely stay here.

This hotel has the best beds! After a full day if sight seeing i did not want to get out of bed this luxurious bed the next day. But my morning pleasantly started with the equally luxurious bath robe i slippped on to enjoy my morning coffee reading the newspaper and enjoying the view.
