“the only place to stay in victoria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Ian, Anne, Michelle and the staff couldn't be more gracious or helpful, but still very respectful of a guest's privacy. Great location, close to the downtown area while allowing you to explore the non-tourist areas of Victoria. We stayed in the downstairs unit that really is a small apt with living room and small kitchen area. Very private and well laid out. Small touches such as book lights, fabulous sheets and soft towels greatly appreciated. Breakfasts were very good and they were happy to work with any dietary restriction. Also, lots of snacks such as homemade cookies and fruit.

The quality of the food is amazing; they cater to a variety of dietary needs with no problems whatsoever. There is great attention to detail throughout, from the toiletries provided to the cozy throws on the armchairs to the cookies and port. We felt incredibly welcome the whole stay.

Abbeymoore is in a high-end residential area of Victoria and we enjoyed walking and driving around to see nice houses in the neighborhood, many of them with ocean view! Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is just a couple of blocks away. Master Bedroom we stayed in was comfortably spacious with a clean and modern bathroom. While the floor was slightly slanted due to vintage, perhaps, and the bed was a little too tall for us from Asia, these were the only things we were not happy with. Nice hot breakfast, plenty of it, was served by cheerful Ian, and our high point during breakfast was when we spotted a humming bird at the feeder!

Ian, Anne, Michelle and their entire team are outstanding. The rooms are large, the sheets are to die for and the bathrooms are spacious and connected to the rooms. Service is the word of the day and it is high.... They think of everything and are there to support you yet don't hover. The food is outstanding and 100% customized to your personal needs and whims.

My stay two days before was at the Hastings House in Saltspring - a Relais and Chateau property. The service was higher here and the food was on par.

definitely exceeded my expectations and I will be back. Highly recommend it to anyone. The walk to downtown was easy and scenic and made for a nice start and end to each day.

My husband and I stayed at the Abbeymoore in Victoria last week. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we felt right at home. Everyone we met at Abbeymoore was very nice, and we spent our first night sipping on port and exchanging tales with the other guests. What fun.

The mansion itself is beautiful, with tidy rooms and nice little touches- a snack area with fresh baked goodies, chips and treats. Breakfast was outstanding. Ian even made my husband a special french toast breakfast since he doesn't like savory breakfasts (although he ended up eating half of my omelette anyway since it was so delicious!)

The Manor is located right across the street from the Government House, and it's a quick stroll over to the Craigdarroch Castle, which makes it ideal for hitting up some of Victoria's main attractions.

It was such a nice experience that created warm memories that you just cannot get at a standard hotel! Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Iris room has lots of natural light and has a nice balcony for relaxing and reading

Hospitality with a personal touch, service, a wonderful room with the softest sheets, a delicious breakfast, a chance to spend time with other travelers, and a glass of port at the end of the day...how does it get better than this? Abbeymoore and family richly deserve their top rating. Why go to a hotel when you can go to a bed and breakfast like this!? Kent and family

The moment we walked in the door, we felt like we were home. Anne and Ian were so hospitable and accommodating! It was the first time either of us had been to Canada, and we are already planning to go back. Anne was a wealth of information on the area, and is willing to assist you in any way. Ian is a joy to be around, and the house is simply beautiful! They have an incredible attention to detail, and you will find there is hardly anything to ask for because they have already provided it before you ask!! The breakfast was wonderful....fresh berries, yogurt and granola with a fresh baked pecan scone, fresh juice, coffee and the best salmon spinach omelette I have ever put in my mouth! If you are travelling to Victoria, this place is a MUST!!!! You won't regret it....it will exceed every expectation you have ever had!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Lilac Room and I am so pleased with our choice, but honestly, you can't go wron...
