“I never have been in a museum like this.. awesome.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

there is so much so see, so much to learn about very long periods of times; about the climate, first nation, wildlife, human history...
the way how they lead you through the history is absolutly great.
They've got also a lot to explore for children.
All the staff we met have been very friendly and professional.
Thank for all your efforts and your work.

“Unique and realistic Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I was deeply surprise with the display of Canadian country life, from earlier years. It was well detail and It actually brought me back to those early years. It also contains a good display of Native people (customs and history). The cover charge is less than $17 dollars and it is located about 5 min walk from the ferry station. The IMAX cinema is super! too many films to choose from. The only down is that is not too big, so in less than 2 hrs you can cover both floors.

“history explained”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

As always, the mammoth that greets you on the entry to the second floor exhibits , is colossal. The beach, forest and wildlife scenarios are so lifelike and the soounds convince you that you are "in situ".
The special events are always spectacular.

“History of Area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I am not a history buff but the museum did a very nice job of showing the history of the natives, culture, climate, and overall history of the area. The layout was a little rambling which caused some walk arounds but enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

“A Must see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

If you are visiting Victoria for the first time and wondering what to see, I recommend the Royal BC museum. It is quite specific to the west coast as the name suggests, has a wonderful native gallery, a pioneer section that covers quite a bit and if you have lots of time the natural gallery with animal dioramas is interesting but if in a rush the first two would be plenty.
