“Perfect balance between friendly hospitality and privacy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2011

Binners is a fabulous guest house. On arrival we were greated by Edward and Binners who looked genuinely happy to see us and interested in our country and provided helpful tips on where we should explore and eat (but not intrusive and bossy like some places). And the pre-arrival tip of going to Butchart gardens straight from the ferry was a brilliant suggestion (such a wonderful place).

We were also upgraded to a suite (free of charge). The rooms are wonderfully appointed, spotlessly clean with every need and luxury catered for in an elegent and tasteful way.

And breakfast was fabulous. Not just the boring bacon and eggs, but thoughtful, different feasts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Victoria. Thank you for your hospitality, Edward and Binners.

Room Tip: We stayed in Suite H

My husband and I decided to spend a weekend at Binners' B & B to celebrate my birthday and we are so glad that we did! We had a marvelous time! Binners and Eduard were amazing and so thoughtful - they put a lovely bouquet of white roses and a bottle of champagne in our room for when we arrived, and on the actual day of my birthday, they had a cute little "Happy Birthday" balloon at the breakfast table. Speaking of breakfast, oh my gosh is Binners' a terrific cook. We never had to eat lunch after one of her wonderful meals! Eduard was so helpful in showing us all the places we could go and where to eat dinner. They had great maps and brochures to give us too. We stayed in 'Suite H' which was just delightful - very roomy and light. There was a romantic fireplace and the large bathroom even had headed floor tiles! Binners' B & B is located in a nice quite neighborhood just half a block from the ocean and three blocks from Beacon Hill Park. We didn't want to leave and felt like we had made life-long friends! We will definitely return on our next trip to Victoria and are telling all of our friends and family to stay here as well! Thank you Binners and Eduard!

Excellent location, we walked by the ocean every morning before breakfast. Beacons Hill Park is close, we walked back through the park from the bike rental shop after a cycling day.

The breakfasts were delicious, light as air lavender scones, fresh citrus and pineapple marinated with star anise, stuffed french toast crusted with sesame, fresh coffee...we were never disappointed.

We stayed in studio H, which was bright and comfortable. The little balcony is great for enjoying a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine)

We recently stayed at Binners for a romantic weekend of relaxation. We were not disappointed. In fact, pretty much everything exceeded our expectations. When we arrived, we were given a friendly greeting by Binners and Edward, then they showed us around the room, and even showed us how to operate the shower, heaters, and lighting. This may seem like excess to some people, but it's not -- I can't count the number of times I've had to call the front desk when staying at a hotel because I couldn't figure out how to adjust the heat/shower/whatever. It's just a little personal touch that speaks to the quality of service they offer. They also recommended a few local restaurants for us, which is always a nice touch for those from out of town.

The Room.
We stayed in the Fairfield Suite, a large, very well-appointed suite with a spacious living room, gas fireplace, small kitchenette with sink, microwave, coffeemaker and so on, a nice big bedroom with east-facing windows to catch the morning sun, and a luxurious bathroom. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and obviously there is a default level of cleanliness that I expect in any accommodation. But this place was absolutely spotless. Not only that, but the decor and furnishings all appeared to be brand new, and the room was tastefully decorated with various small pieces of art, perfectly arranged. It was like walking into a showroom. The bed and sheets were exceptionally comfortable, with plenty of extra pillows available. The bathroom was also quite luxurious, with a heated floor, large jacuzzi tub, and a large, comfortable showerhead (this was NOT one of those annoying low-flow showerheads that some owners have installed to save on hot water). Elemis and Aveeno amenities were available.

Breakfast.
In a word, sumptuous. The first morning we enjoyed coffee, tea, yogurt, freshly-baked cinnamon raisin rolls, and frittatas with a side of roasted tomatoes. The second morning was fresh-baked orange and cranberry muffins, croque monsieur, and a few other things whose names escape me. Anyway, my description can't do it justice - look at the photos.

Service.
Basically we were made to feel like members of their family, but without any sort of intrusiveness. They started off by showing us the room and advising us about sightseeing, local dining, and so on, which eliminated most of the questions we might have had to ask. Edward had to leave suddenly because of a family emergency, but despite this Binners took care of us almost like a grandmother. We really felt at home staying here, and we will definitely return if we have the chance.

Binners and Edward make you feel like family. We just returned home after staying in the Fairfield room for the last four nights. It was our first trip to Victoria and our first time staying at a B&B. It was a great experience. Even though we were unable to experience Victoria's beautiful spring weather due to the freak winter snow storm, we were able to experience Victoria's great dining experiences through their "Dine Around" events and the helpful suggestions from our great hosts. You will find the rooms spacious and clean, the food fantastic and atmosphere welcoming. Thank you Binner and Edward for making our first trip to Victoria so special. Greg and Sherry

We have stayed here a few times and always love the excellent company of the hosts and the comfortable rooms. We stayed in the Fairfield Suite this trip and it was wonderful, spacious and it had every amenity that you would need. We would stay here again whenever in Victoria. Thanks for a lovely stay.
