“The most overwhelmingly amazing experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

Went out this morning with hopes of a few glimpses of wildlife and webwere rewarded with close encounters with not only orcas but sea lions and humpback whales. The crew are so knowledgable and I loved their ethical approach to everything they do, respecting nature at all times unlike other tours we saw. So informative and exhilarating on the super fast boat. Could not recommend this company more. Total dream come true.

“Experience of a lifetime!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

My partner and I traveled all the way from Perth Australia to Victoria BC to live the dream of seeing orca. We couldn't have wished for a more fantastic experience!

Tom, our captain, was full of energy, knowledge and experience and knew where to find the orca when boats from other companies couldn't. He took us out on Tika, the open boat, which was sooo much fun! We had a very smooth journey and the boat was the perfect size for incredible viewing and photo opportunities. As there were only 11 people on our tour it felt very personal - we had plenty of space and the opportunity to ask lots of questions.

We followed a pod of transient orca for over 3 hours, it was unreal. We also saw many humongous and loud sea lions and seals!

We highly recommend embarking on a whale watching tour with this company - you will be guaranteed a fantastic experience! We want to do it all over again!

“Claire is so wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

What a great experience! Lovely boat - we went out in the boat that has indoor and outdoor seats available. We saw tons of killer whales and enjoyed learning about the area. Pictures were hard to take because of the movement of the boat, but Claire (employee) emailed some of her favorite pictures after which was so nice. No drinks served on boat - we learned after that they did not care if we brought wine or spirits for the trip (a must for our next time)!

Our driver, I think Gord, was also very pleasant and gave us a great review for a sushi dinner for later that evening. A wonderful experience - please really consider using this small, family and locally owned business.

BC Whale Tours is glad you had a great experience on the water with the orcas! We know how hard it can be to get good shots of the whales, thus it's always a pleasure to provide some good ones as a souvenir of your trip. Thanks a lot. Cheers.

“Whale Watching”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

The whale watching operation was very organized from start to finish. We opted for the mostly covered boat instead of the open Zodiak type boats.. After boarding we proceeded at high speed to an area off San Juan Island and immediately began seeing Killer Whales popping up to breathe. We also saw Mother and calf swimming together. We saw about 60 Orcas of the resident pod. Some surfaced close to the boat. All during the time we were on station, Jen, a recent marine science graduate from the University of Victoria, and two others gave us information about Orcas in general and specifics about the individual Orcas in the three resident pods we were viewing. They also answered questions.
The experience was worth every penny and exceeded the expectations of my group of friends. We would like very much to go whale watching with B.C. Whale Watching again.
We got some great pictures, but wished we had a telephoto lens for the camera. The best pictures I got were using the video function on my camera. You have a wide area to watch and you never know where the whales will pop up next.
It was recommended that we wear layered clothing topped with a rain/wind proof jacket or coat.
This is very good advise. It was a moderate temp day, but felt much colder on the water. Be prepared. No fooling!

“Totally amazing experience :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

We booked the Tika as we're kind of adrenalin junkies & Tika looked awesome. The morning of our trip dawned incredibly foggy & we were concerned it may be cancelled. Oh no! We arrived early & were told that we had been moved to Luna as there weren't enough people for Tika. We were disappointed but decided we would enjoy it, & wow did we!! Captain Gordon was brilliant; knowledgable, caring & environmentally responsible. We saw orca, humpback whales, porpoises, seals & sealions - just incredible! It was cold on the water so it was actually brilliant to be able to go inside in the warm. They only carry a max of 12 people so the service is personal & you feel it's quality. We loved it :D
