We had an incredible stay in the 2 bedroom sea view room. We were comfortable with the spacious unit. Our grandson loved watching the boats and planes. You are so close to lots of things to do. Definitely would stay here again

I live in Victoria and planned a fun weekend with friends including a two night stay in an Executive Suite. The room had utterly amazing views and the parking was great. There were small areas that could use improvement (slow response time for doormen, cleanliness of balcony) but overall, the room was good.

That being said, I would never recommend this hotel as I received some of the worst customer service I have never seen.

It began on our second night when one of the front desk attendants was extremely rude. Not getting into the long story, she displayed a complete disrespect for clients, acting very forceful and abrupt. The following morning, I had the exact same experience with a male employee who came to our room and tried to tell us we were required to leave at that moment, even though a late check out was already arranged. Again, in a forceful and extremely rude manner.

Maybe it is because I am a local, but I was appauled by the service and felt I should make the employer aware. As both employees showed the same very impolite approach, I was nervous it was a bigger issue within the hotel.

After I addressed my concerns in an email, I received a couple responses by email from various managers of the hotel. In the emails they assured me that customer service was their number one priority. However, furthermore, it was stated that as the employees had been with the company for a 'very long time', my story could not be corroborated and therefore there was no reason to doubt their versions.

Ironically, I received that response on a Thursday when they had previously told me that they would not be able to address the employees individually until the Friday.

I was utterly blown away by the response and decided I should write this review. A complete lack of respect when a customer tries to identify an area of improvement disgusts me.

Dear Guest,
We can assure you that customer service is indeed our number one priority and we follow up on all comments our guests send with due diligence. As a result of this commitment, we have been voted in the top 20 hotels in Canada by readers of Conde Nast Magazine for the past four years - an award based on customer satisfaction. As explained to you before, we spoke with all the employees involved in the alleged incident, and they emphatically denied being rude, forceful and/or abrupt. Our employees are carefully selected and well trained to meet our high standards of service. Those employees have indeed been working for us for a very long time and are constantly praised for their service. We certainly have no reason to doubt their version, but your comments provided us a great opportunity to talk to all our employees about the importance of always striving to provide all our guests an outstanding customer service and a memorable stay at the Regent.

Booked this hotel based on good reviews from others. We were visiting in celebration of our anniversary but were disappointed with this hotel. I did not live up to the previous reviews. Our room was hot and had a free standing a/c unit but didn't work too well. The room was not as clean as it could have been and there was an odor of an old vacuum cleaner bag. Also, there was mold, etc. in and around the bath tub. Hotel provided ear protectors either to drown out the a/c unit or street noise. Both were bothersome!

Great little breakfast cafe, roomie digs and absolutely fabulous location on the harbour! The double master with ensuite style of the two bedroom suite offered maximum privacy for everyone. Although clean, there was just a bit of mustiness about the suite. Perhaps ask to have your room 'aired' before your arrival... One of the downsides to living on the 'Wet Coast'.

Enjoy the little touches like the umbrellas provided in the lobby in case you forget your own...

Room Tip: Worth upgrading to a larger suite and inviting the family as everyone loved the location and watchin...

big rooms, not very special, clean, staff can be a bit rude. Breakfast is by far not what you expect for the price.
Great location, very central.
In general totally overpriced!!!!! There better palces for much lower prices in town

We were upgraded to a Suite and the view from the balcony was just amazing. The suite was large, had laundry facilities with 2 bedrooms both having ensuites. The service was great and people working there were very friendly too. Great place to stay when you're in Victoria.

Room Tip: The western facing rooms get that afternoon sun... but then you get the sunset! Worth the heat.
