“Great place for cyclists”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

This is a great place to stay, the room was very clean and roomy with all the amenities required to allow for a comfortable stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A perfect place to stay if you cycle from Swartz Bay to Victoria. We will definitely stay there again when we go for another visit to the Provincial Capitol.

Room Tip: The Junior Suite is a great room.

I booked one night at the Accent Inn as I did not want to drive home over the Malahat at night. It was quiet even though I was on the Blanshard Street side. It was clean, had a decent size tv, and internet access. The service was great, even though I had problems with the key card.

The Accent Inn was a good choice for a four-day stay in Victoria without being tops in many respects. It is just north of the city centre, but not remote. It is 2-3 blocks away from the main public transportation stops in all directions,(including the ferry connections) but not immediately adjacent toany of them. It is roughly the same distance to major shopping malls, but without immediate access to to such amenities. The adjoining restaurant that pleased earlier reviewers is currently unavailable, and the alternatives do not adequately substitute for it; it would be good to learn from future reviewers whether this service has been restored. The rooms are decently large, with very comfortable beds. The free WIFI works smoothly. Refrigerators are in all rooms, and microwaves are available upon request. The rooms are kept clean. However, access by outside walkways has the impact of the room made darker by drawn curtains, with conversations from passing guests distinct most hours of the day. Noise transmission from other rooms was present - largely not annoying but sometimes so. The tub and shower are delightfully large, but their juxtaposition with the toilet is dysfunctional. Shower pressure is enjoyable except during dramatic short bursts of temperature changes. While the main office personnel are superbly pleasant and helpful, this is not a full-service hotel. Its public spaces are not inspiring. But good attributes such as an effective free computer with attached printer (for boarding cards!) and snack machines are at the entrance. All in all, the Accent Inn was experienced as a positive home away from home, but should not be confused with luxury hotels.

Easy check in, great location across the street from Mayfair Mall and short drive to downtown. The room faced a busy street but noise was not an issue especially as traffic diminished in the evening. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We turned on the heater which was quiet and worked well. We ate breakfast at the ABC restaurant attached to the hotel, which is convenient. Would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the property would probably be quieter overall as it faces the back of condo un...

My mother-in-law booked the Accent Inn as she wanted to bring her small dog and it allows pets. It was a surprisingly good price for Victoria; I checked Trip Advisor and saw overall rating was good. When we arrived, the room appeared clean at first glance. First thing I do at a motel is pull blankets back and check sheets. Was really disappointed to see 2 longer head hairs and a little grit on the sheet. We requested another room. The replacement room beds were clean but there were several hairs on the bathroom floor. Disappointing, as room was otherwise reasonably comfortable and desk staff pleasant. Liked ABC Restaurant staff - patient and helpful with my aging in-laws. I don't mind basic, but a motel isn't a good value if it isn't totally clean.

My room was spotless, everything looked to be new. The last room I had was with a kitchen so thought this room would have but no matter, they gave me a set of cutlery and a bowl and so with the mini fridge I was able to have breakfast in my room.

They make fresh cookies sometimes so got one of those at check in.

There is good access to a running path - did not use this time around. The area is not very residential though....but if you go around the supper hour there are others using the path as well.

Room Tip: The one thing I would say it that staying in the rooms on the back side you will find it much quiete...

Room was clean and comfortable. Very friendly desk staff. Have stayed here before and would return, great value for the money. The one negative aspect is the ABC Restaurant which is not run by the Hotel. Very slow and understaffed.
