I saved at least $200 in 3 nights by staying at the Royal Scot. Two reasons: They have a free shuttle at any time, just go the front desk. The shuttle departure is not scheduled so it's like having free taxi service, they'll even come pick you up, free! Location is great for harbor and central downtown.
Most of all, the suites have a full kitchen, there's a liquor store across the street and the market is a five minute walk.
I set myself up with steaks, fresh salmon, groceries cost me about $20, it was enough for 3 breakfasts, two dinners and munchies. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony having meals, wine. Then went out. It was great.
The rooms are like a good Best Western divided like an Embassy Suites. I would absolutely stay there again. Clean and the staff were professional and helpful.

So glad I took the advice of reviews on this site!! Royal Scot could NOT be faulted in any are, the price was the best(lowest!) we paid anywhere in our 4 week travels of the US and Canada, and yet the service was over and above anything else we experienced!! My husband, toddler and I had 3 nights in next-door rooms to my parents and had an absolutely fabulous stay. The kitchenette was so helpful, the bathrooms lovely, the bedroom extremely comfortable - and our daughter loved having her own t.v. too!! The staff could not have been more helpful if they tried - and the free shuttle-bus service is BRILLIANT! The location of Royal Scot is in the centre of everything, and Victoria is such a lovely place (nearly as good as home, Victoria Australia!!). We hope we get the privilege of returning someday...

This was our first time in Victoria. We stayed at the Royal Scot based on the reviews on TripAdvisor - the reviews are right on! The hotel staff is the most accomodating I have ever had on a hotel stay. The location is excellent for walking into town yet away from the hustle of downtown. The pillow top bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on in a hotel. Every small special touch the hotel practices just makes it a perfect place to stay in Victoria. Thanks TripAdvisor for your review services - extremely helpful!!

This is a great suite hotel and has a lovely relaxed feel to it. The service is always very good (as this is the 4th year we've stayed there); and the staff are exceptionally helpful. The suites are fully equipped and are close to downtown.
