“Value for the dollar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2013

Not a standard Red Lion but beds very comfortable, rooms are small but well adorned. Rooms are dim due to the use of the new light bulbs but not the fault of the hotel. 2 Queen beds for $55.00 is spectacular for the area, and included parking. Only drawback is the hotel is out of the main town area and you will spend several dollars for parking downtown. Find an early bird in public lot, pay for the day. Victoria is a walking city but has excellent transportation available.

Room Tip: 4th floor very quiet.

Not very inspiring looking and not the best location - miles from downtown. But surprisingly good rooms (we got a great price too) and very comfortable. When I told friend I had stayed here, they immediately said 'strip club', but honestly I didn't even know it was there.

Room Tip: It's a cab/bus ride downtown

This hotel is not is the best location, in fact shares a parking lot with a liquor store and a night club. The fitness center is not across the street but a few blocks away. They advertise the Red Lion pillow top mattress but ours was hard and sunken, not pillow top. The hotel is clean and the staff was nice. Don't stay at this hotel unless you have a vehicle. It is a long walk to a bus stop or the shopping, not convienent. The last thing I had a problem with was, they do not participate in the Red Lion R&R Club or offer any reward points. The price was really good.

Room Tip: Stay downtown.

Pretty much agree with most comments....A few nights is OK, but I have booked a month while relocating from Vancouver and that was a big mistake.
Nice staff, and helpful but its not the best part of town.

There are ALOT of greesy men here not really suitable for a young female. There is a strip club. Its not really suitable for women or children..just saying.

I have stayed here a number of times in the last few years. The hotel has been refinshed and the rooms all updated. The furnishings and bedding are top of the line. All granite bathrooms, fridge, mcro, coffee makers. Very inexpensive for what you get. I stayed in a "regular" room, but I have stayed in a suite. Those are dynamite!
Very qick and friendly check in/out. Housekeeping was good. Parking is very tight. Location is fine. Further downtown just gets pricier. Longer term stays here are great in rooms with a kitchen. If you need to they also have very rare rooms here --- smoking rooms. For those in the "know" that is a strip bar at the back of the hotel, so the rear can get a little rowdy late at night. All in all, I like it and I will keep coming back.

Room Tip: Smoking rooms are abvailable. Suites, with kitchen and separate bedrooms are only a few dollars more...

We were quite surprised when we reached the hotel... it was decent hotel with quite comfortable rooms... the location was also a plus (not too far from downtown).. the only problem which one may face is parking... we got the parking but I think it may be a challenge sometime.

We chose this hotel based on it's value and being pet friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room based on its price. The room was spacious, well appointed, and very clean. It was convenient to take our dogs out the back door rather than go through the front lobby. Parking was convenient and free. The location is not the best as you definitely need to have a car to get to downtown. However, Victoria is such an easy city do drive in and find parking that the location was not really a factor for us. Overall, an excellent stay.
